Gostilna Vintgar — Restaurant in Gorje

Don’t usually leave reviews but after todays service I believe it’s needed. Tried to pay, one of the servers (she was very nice and friendly but noted one of her colleagues would have to take payment), I then waited about 10 minutes with the other waiter passing several times but the person was taking orders from new tables despite me standing waiting? When he eventually came over I was asked if I was paying by cash and I said no card. He questioned me if I had any cash and commented that it’s stupid not to carry cash. I had clearly noted another person pay by card and their website notes card payments accepted in advance so held tough. Eventually he brought out the card machine and proceeded to challenge me as to what I’d do if my phone died to which I responded I’ve a watch with Apple Pay and also my physical card (I also have emergency cash but refused to please the ignorant server by...

Abbiamo soggiornato 6 notti ed è stato godibilissimo. La struttura è accogliente, le stanze non all'ultimo grido ma comunque decorose, pulite e funzionali. I materassi sono comodissimi e la qualità del sonno eccellente. Bastano poche ore per sentirsi nuovamente un leone. Parcheggio gratuito per gli ospiti. La posizione è eccellente: nel verde, a pochi passi dalla Gola di Vintgar e a pochi minuti di macchina da Bled, dove si possono trovare i servizi essenziali come supermercato e lavanderia automatica. Si può mangiare al loro ristorante, anche se per cena chiudono un pò presto: alle 19.00. Questa scelta è comprensibile poichè il maggior afflusso di persone è fino alle 18.00 orario di chiusura al pubblico della Gola di Vintgar. Come alternativa per cena comunque ci sono diversi altri ristoranti e pizzerie nei paraggi. Abbiamo usufruito 2 volte della loro cucina. I prezzi sono contenuti, la qualità eccellente e le porzioni abbondanti. Tutto lo staff è stato sempre cordialissimo e disponibile.||E' stata una sistemazione indovinata per spostarsi in auto verso le località più affascinanti della Slovenia: Bled è a pochi minuti in macchina. Bohinj e Kranjska Gora a circa mezz'ora in macchina. Lubiana a 40 minuti e a pochi kilometri dall'albergo si imbocca già la superstrada che porta direttamente alla capitale.||Siamo rimasti davvero soddisfatti della vacanza nell'insieme. Sia l'ospitalità di Vintgar che la Slovenia ci sono rimaste nel cuore.||||We stayed for 6 nights and it was a really enjoyable stay. The structure is nice, the rooms are not very modern but they are tidy, clean, functional and the beds very comfortable. The sleep quality was excellent. Free parking for guests. The location is excellent: in nature, close to the beautiful Vintgar Gorge and a few minutes drive from Bled, where you can find all services such as supermarket and laundry.||It is possible to use the restaurant, even if they close a little early for dinner, at 19.00.||This choice is understandable, because the main influx is in the time slot until 18.00 after which the Vintgar Gorge closes to public and there is no passage of people. As an alternative there are other restaurants nearby. We ate there twice, the prices are reasonable, the quality is excellent and the portions generous. The staff have always been extremely helpful. It was an ideal accommodation for visiting the main locations around Slovenia. Bled is very close. Bohinj and Kranjska Gora are half an hour away by car. Ljubljana is 40 minutes away on an almost direct, very easy road. We are really satisfied with the holiday spent. Both Gostilna Vintgar and Slovenia will remain...
