We went to Slovenia for our best friend wedding last week (June 26th) and BRDO Estate was her chosen location. The Hotel was amazing, Rooms were great, very clean, great views, great bathrooms, extremely comfortable beds with great bedding and pillows. Restaurant has amazing food options from breakfast to lunch and dinner at a very reasonable prices. Restaurant service was also great with extremely friendly staff. Recommend renting a car to facilitate travel around Slovenia and visiting its beautiful landmarks.
But, our main issues were with the reservation process and the front desk manager in particular. Two rooms were booked 3 months in advance for 3 days with a late check out of 3 pm on Thursday since we were flying out at 7:30 from the nearby airport. Two weeks prior to heading out for our trip we were notified that due to some overbooking on they part they might not be able to offer the late check out option agreed upon, but to check with them at arrival. When we arrive we were told to still check with the the day before if they could do the late check out since other party member were also requesting it. So we did coming back from the wedding venue and confirmed with the desk employee (at 3am) that we had approval for a 3 o'clock check out for both rooms.
That is when it all went south. At 12pm they started knocking on the door telling us that we should not be there. The manager then show up 1/2 hr later telling it was not approved with a copy of the email he sent me weeks prior. I then told him that his employee told us a few hours ago that we were approved. It the accused me of lying and that he would check it out himself. I told him we would clear the room as soon as we could to help him. He then told me that it would be 10 Euros per hr per room and I was fine with it since that was the original agreement. One room was cleared at 2 pm and the second one at 2:30 pm.
At the time of check out, the manager confirmed that he checked and we were told that we had been approve for the 3 o"clock check out by his staff earlier that day ( 3 am). But then to find out that on my final bill, he charged us an extra 90 Euro for one room and 60 Euro for the second one instead of 40 Euro and 30 Euro for the late check out. And also a 35 Euro extra charge for early checking when our flight landed in Slovenia at 4:00 pm, then rented a car and then drove to the property. We did not show up to the hotel till 5 pm. How can that be an early checking when check in starts at 3pm.
So at the end he rob us of 50 + 30 + 35 = 115 Euros and accused us of lying. Which definitely was the worst way we have been treated at such an high end hotel. Specially after admitting that he was wrong , but showed no remorse and rob us instead.....
We are so extremely disappointed from that experience and so were other members of the wedding party when they heard of...

We stayed at Elegans Hotel Brdo last week for the first time, and it was much, much better than expected. A true gem! 👌
The hotel is beautifully furnished – elegant, harmonious, and thoughtfully designed. Every detail is taken care of. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed: a water kettle, coffee machine, and an incredibly comfortable bed. The only small downside was the shower – since it’s open on one side, it’s almost impossible not to splash water all over the bathroom.
The staff were incredibly polite, friendly, and well-mannered. On our first day, we had lunch at the hotel restaurant – even though the menu isn’t really optimized for vegetarians, the waiter kindly arranged a vegetarian dish with the chef, and it turned out magnificent. Every bite was delicious.
Breakfast is excellent – huge selection and something for everyone: from sweet dishes and fresh fruit to salads, cheeses, and the best porridge I’ve ever had. The only weak point was the coffee. The Illy coffee used isn’t top-quality, and although the machine offers vegan milk, it wasn’t ideal (rice milk was okay, but the almond milk the next day was undrinkable). If you want oat milk coffee, you need to pay extra – which is fine, but it would be better if it was simply included in breakfast.
The spa area is also fantastic. The saunas are great (though the Finnish sauna could be a bit bigger). The relaxation area is huge, with two separate rooms (one is a salt room). There’s also a cold sauna, which is amazing. You’ll find small snacks, tea, and homemade lemonade available. Hotel guests have two hours of free spa access each day – it would be nice if this were extended to three hours, as that’s usually the ideal time to enjoy all the benefits.
And last but not least, the location and surroundings are absolutely beautiful. The Brdo Park is free to enter and perfect for long walks or a round of golf. There are several small lakes with swans, lotus flowers, and rich natural life. The whole area radiates peace, positive energy, and...
