I booked the 29th for the 31st of August. As I was travelling without Internet connection, I immediatelly wrote them just asking for the car park. The answered I could use their car park for 10 euros, and added that the payment may be done by cash as they where having troubles with bank. As well they wrote that check-in was from 16:00 to 18:00 even if in booking.com was until ten in the night. I use to book hotels when I don't want to check with owners arrival time and this kind of stuff. Cancellation was with full charge so I had to go on with it.| So today, when I arrived at Laško at 14:00, I found free wifi and found some messages they wrote me in the morning by whatsapp. At 12:40 they wrote that due to traffic I would find the key in the box. Everything was closed in the town due to a festivity. The hotel was closed as well so at 14:30 I checked the box but no keys were there. I also opened booking app and read that credit card was rejected. I asked for a free cancellation and immediately received a WhatsApp message were somebody was coming. A man came, gave me the keys, asked me to pay 90 euros by cash(80 euros reservation plus 10 euros parking), no invoice was given to me. No Coffee welcome or 20% discount for the wellness, as written in booking.com info. So, tired, in a really hot day, after driving for some hours, I just took the keys and went to the bedroom. A heavy smell arrived to me as soon as I opened the door. We had a shower. Water came off from the shower to the floor. I looked around. The fridge had a bad noise. The dust was everywhere. I check again my reservation on booking.com and it appears cancelled with no fee!! The hotel never tried to charge my credit card, wanted me to pay by cash, cancelled my booking and it appears that I have never been there. Obviously the are not going to pay any fee to booking.com or refund me, and I can't complain because they didn't gave me an invoice.| I definitely decided to leave the room at 16:00 and put the keys in the box and driving home! I wrote the owner that I left the room because of the smell and because it was dirty and that they must write right info on booking. They just answered me that I was lying. I decided that was better losing money than spending a night in that place. Obviously on booking.com there are only good reviews but I found that somebody else had my same experience with payment and bad behaviour...
Read moreHad a pretty bad experience with this place. After booking this place weeks before our trip, we arrived in the evening to find the hotel closed. No one answered the number on the side of the building nor the number listed on the booking website. After looking at my reservation, I realized we had arrived at 7:35 PM, which was 35 min after the hotel's check-in period (4-7). When I contacted the hotel via the booking app, the message I got back was short and pretty rude (you're on your own and figure it out). We did arrive after the check-in period, there is no arguing that, and the staff of the hotel is certainly in their rights to offer us no help. However, chastising a customer who has already paid, not offering any suggestions on where we might try to find another place, and in general making a bad situation even worse, isn't what I would expect from staff. Given that this is a very small hotel in a pretty small town (we looked and couldn't find any other hotels open), the staff at Trubarjev might have tried to contact us via the booking app or call us since they did have our phone number on the reservation. In the least, suggesting where we might go would have helped us a lot. If they would have put in a minimum amount of effort, I would have apologized thoroughly and we would have arrived to the hotel immediately since we had actually stopped to grab a bite to eat less than minutes from the hotel. I should have looked better at the reservation and realized what time check-in ended, however the whole situation left a very poor impression of the people who run this hotel. Laško (and Slovenia in general) is filled with many pleasant people, so why not support those people and book in their hotels instead...
Read moreBe careful - total SCAM !!! I was there for 1 night and made the reservation through booking.com. I arrived at the hotel and checked in normally. I assumed that I will pay for the room upon checking out, as usual. In the evening I got an e-mail, that my reservation on booking.com is canceled, due to an invalid credit card. Clearly, no one tried to do the transaction, as well as no one informed me about that issue (if this issue would exist...). And I was already in the room for a couple of hours, strange right? My credit card is working normally and had enough funds. When I received the cancellation the reception was already closed, so I waited until the check-out. At the check-out, the owner gave me a separate invoice, which was even for 2 EUR higher than the reservation was on booking.com. Of course, he did that to avoid paying the booking.com commission and earn extra money. I explained to him that I myself work in a travel agency and that I know exactly what he is doing and that this is a scam. He insisted on paying the invoice, and there was nothing else I could do about it at that point. I would NOT RECOMMEND staying in this hotel at...
