A Hidden Gem of Travel and Slovenia. That's how I would describe this splendid resort. As a seasoned traveler and a physician who has experienced a fair share of hotels and restaurants, I tend to be discerning when it comes to choosing a place to stay or dine. Yet, this place left me utterly captivated.
Nestled deep within the forest, where my GPS had me doubting my path, this gem suddenly revealed itself. At the reception, we were pleasantly surprised to find a focus on the essentials rather than unnecessary formalities, reducing the initial bureaucratic burden. We were greeted with a delightful chocolate treat, setting the tone for our stay.
Upon entering our cabin, I was struck by its incredible coziness. I have a soft spot for the blend of black and wood decor, and this cabin had it down to an art. The layout was perfect, space maximized, and every detail meticulously thought out. The beds were comfortable, ideally designed for two, yet our family of four managed comfortably - my wife and our two little daughters upstairs, and myself downstairs. As we visited during the pleasant summer days, I can't speak to the effectiveness of the air conditioning, but it seemed well-equipped.
The cabin boasted a beautiful terrace where we could spend hours in tranquil contemplation, gazing into the wilderness. We even had our private nook, and the children were overjoyed, indulging in endless play.
For dinner, we dined at the adjacent restaurant, sampling burgers, pizzas, and wings - all simply amazing. The beer may not have been to my exact Czechoslovakian beer connoisseur standards, but the beer stocked in our cabin's fridge as part of the bar offerings more than made up for it.
Breakfasts were delightful. We opted for all three menus - Slovenian, protein-packed, and sweet treats. Everything was exceptional, with my personal favorite being the cheese spread and salami, while the kids predictably favored the sweets.
In the heart of the resort, a pleasant pool offered a refreshing spot for a dip. While I'm a semi-professional swimmer and have different pool criteria, it was more than sufficient for children and leisurely recreation.
For me, this resort easily garners a 10/10 rating. However, if I were to offer one suggestion, it would be regarding privacy. I understand that maximizing space within the resort necessitates placing cabins close together. Yet, it does affect privacy. Visual barriers could be introduced, like living fences and green walls, particularly facing the public walkway in the front.
Nevertheless, even the minor concern mentioned above doesn't deter me from planning a return visit. I'm particularly keen to witness this resort's beauty in the autumn, winter, and spring. I do believe that, given its concept, a maximum stay of three...
Read moreThe location and overall concept of the resort are excellent, featuring stunning views and nature. The houses are modernly furnished and, although small, they are well-equipped. However, the service was disappointing. Upon arrival we found hairs on the dining table and floor. Later, we discovered that we were sold an open bottle of wine from their winery. In the restaurant, I cleaned the table before my baby start eating, and I found very dirty table, which is unacceptable for such a restaurant. Additionally, charging €350 while requiring guests to prepare their own breakfast /of course with products from the resort/ is unreasonable. I mean, I would prefer to rest and enjoy the stay, but instead I had to open packed salami, cheese, butter ect. and to prepare the breakfast for the family. We were also informed we could check out by noon, but on the day of departure, we were told it had to be by 11. We were with baby and we had to wake her up to leave! WiFi in the house is poor and there is no wifi in the cafe, because “the boss does not allow”. Overall, the price does not correspond the quality of the services . While the location is fantastic, the services provided are lacking and the experience...
Read moreWe booked three nights who were amazing to experience. It’s a small glamping with 10 houses for 2-4 persons.
Location: The glamping is nicely located on a river with an amazing view from out of the houses. Surrounded are nice restaurants and places to get a drink.
There are some activities in the area like Bikepark Maribor, An abandoned aircraft, shopping center.
Stay: The experience was great. We took a chocolate massage and afterwards a tree hours spa who is all there. The spa includes a hottub, sauna, rest area, snacks and drinks.
They have an amazing swimming pool that everyone of the glamping can access. There is also a nice fireplace that’s every night ready to use with marshmallows for a nice evening.
For a small place there were a lot of families with small children. This means there was a lot of noise and for what the place looks like it isn’t a place for kids to stay.
Breakfast: There are 4 types of breakfast you can choose from. Personally they were all not attractive to what’s found in it. They have strange products in and not much to choose from.
The last day we had old bread who was very chewy. I guess they could do something about proving better breakfast with more in...
