Rented unit 265 B Loerie at Elephant Lodge, Mabalingwe for 3 nights. As a couple we were given 3 single beds. Would have preferred a double bed. The aircon and braai area light weren't working the day we checked in. The owner had it fixed the next day. Not ideal for a longer stay (bar fridge). There's a few inconveniences like the 2 plate stove and single wash basin being outside. We had to use a chair to stand the dishes on to dry. The table to eat on and braai area (about 25 meters away) aren't covered, so can't be used when it rains. There isn't wifi or dstv at the unit. What we did like was the various animals like deer, warthogs, monkeys, etc visiting everyday. We also enjoyed the close proximity to the entertainment area and onsite shop. Mabalingwe overall is very beautiful, and nature lovers will always enjoy this area. We saw 2 rhino but unfortunately none of the...
Read moreBooked bungalow 253 from 6/03/21 to 13/03/21 through Lekker Slaap. It is also managed by 'Christa' . What a disappointment. The front door couldn't open and after battling for about 40 minutes it had to be forced open. On entering the toilette was broken and the floor was completely wet. The cover was brocken by the posible previous occupants and was laying loose on the windowsill. It is obvious that maintanince is not regular done and also mismanaged by 'Christa' from Mabalingwe. For the money that you pay you would expect a better service from a organisation like Lekker Slaap and Mabalingwe. It is understandable that things break, but that should be repaired before the new occupants arrive. When you go away for a week to rest and just chill you don't need the frestrations of service delivery issues due to mismanagement. Not a nice stay...
Read moreWe enjoyed our stay. Stayed at Naguil equipped for a couple. Dstv, fridge, double bed. Electrical stove and kettle only which is a problem when loadshedding happens. Few nicks that need fixing in the chalet. One thing that bothered was the braai area is very far from chalet. But we borrowed old geyser braai on ground that worked fine. Bring your own wood. Wood you buy at shop is very wet. Our neighbours were so noisy and it is disturbing when one wants to enjoy the peaceful bushveld. Very loud music at night and listening to gospel from 6am on Sunday. Wild life and nature is wonderful. We saw 18 species including hippo, jackal, rhino. Great for birdwatching. Restaurants and bars at Mabalingwe are lovely. Swimming pools fun. We enjoyed the self drive...
