A Charming Retreat with Attentive Host

We recently had the pleasure of staying in "The Shack at Koekeloer in Nieu-Bethesda, a delightful self-catering accommodation. From the moment we arrived, Coert, the owner, made our experience truly memorable. His warm hospitality and attention to detail set this place apart.

The property is impeccably maintained, with a cozy fireplace that added to the charm. The stylish decor and quality furnishings made us feel right at home. Coert’s personal touch made us feel welcomed and valued throughout our stay.

We were also visited by a Cape eagle owl, which greeted us with its resonant “hooo, hooo” call.

I highly recommend Koekeloer because of the high quality of the accommodation. We were impressed with the understated elegance and attentian to detail. Besides the good quality, beds, bedding and furniture, we liked all the extras such as plunger coffee and welcome sherry. The place is really very well equiped with proper and adequate crockery, glasses, kitchen essentials, and a big fridge (with ice). Great location in the centre of the village. The rooms are immaculately clean, no small feat in a dusty desert town. The extras are all there, juice boxes, water bottles, vanity kits, good quality linen and great shower pressure with ample hot water. Original artworks on the walls, and the lovely addition of some vintage pieces. We stayed during in a cold spell, and were toasty with the heated aircon and electric blankets.
