My lawyer invited me breakfast, to this 'very special hidden gem' this morning. It's a beautiful setting, but the restaurant experience was disappointing. We arrived at 08:30, and the outside table was covered in a layer of dust. The waiter didn't seem to bother when I pointed this out. My omelet arrived without toast; getting a piece of whole wheat toast took more than 15min; enough time for my omelet to cold. The pepper pot on the table was empty, and the pepper pot on the next table didn't work. I ordered a second cup of coffee which arrived 10 minutes later on the table next to ours; I thought that coffee was mine, and when the waiter called another 5 minutes later, he realized that. I then had to ask for milk again even though I asked for milk. Is it maybe because I am Afrikaans and don't fit in, or was this just my unlucky day for service delivery in a so-called 5* establishment? My layer had a piece of avocado toast and an orange juice. I bill came to ZAR 500. Dit alles het net nie reg gevoel nie. PS: Here's to hoping this message reaches management, for the sake of guests expecting...
Read moreI usually stay at another hotel when I visit CT, but I'd been to Homespun on my last visit and discovered The Andros, and so decided to give it a try. It is refreshingly obvious that whoever runs the hotel cares about small things, and everything is designed with taste and comfort in mind. I loved the spacious and quiet rooms, the friendly staff, the range of drinks, the atmosphere, and the general sense of solitude and quietness the place evokes. With bigger hotels, you might get a little lost in it all, and have to deal with too many people; not at The Andros. It truly is the boutique experience. I thought it was a little over-priced but as I reflect on the elegance and the little touches, I would definitely choose it for my next weekend stay. The staff who work at The Andros are committed to its success, and their friendly and helpful attitude means the vision of the owner is as important to them as well. Top end...
Read moreMy wife and I was looking for a quite local place to enjoy a night away from our twins, we could not have chosen better. ||From the moment we arrived, the staff were attentive and knowledgeable, the food was on point, we didn’t leave the property for the entire stay.||The room was spacious and so much attention to detail, with a lot of complementary drinks (couldn’t finish it all), the room service was quick and the meals arrived perfectly. ||We booked for dinner at Homespun the onsite restaurant and we were simply blown away, amazing service and brilliant experiential dining at great value for money. It was so nice to wonder back to our room nearby (no driving) after a bottle of wine.||We enjoyed a treatment at the spa, gym and sauna were quiet and well kept.||Breakfast included was superb and it was the ideal way to end a quick getaway.||We will definitely be back and highly recommend The Andros, thank...
