Branch & Vine Cottages (formerly Pinoak cottages) — Hotel in Constantia

I had reserved an online booking for one night at Pin oak cottages. As all seasoned travellers know by now that no matter how well you may plan ahead, things don’t always work out as expected. This was the case as I could not get a car I had booked 2 months in advance and therefore spent wasted time trying to get it sort. I ended up arriving 2 hours later after having to find alternative transportation . I explained my situation to the owner over the outside intercom who was totally unsympathetic despite me apologising repeatedly. I told the owner that the taxi had left and I was standing outside in the dark with no alternative transportation. I quite literally stood there begging this man for half an hour to open and allow me inside. I cannot begin to describe the fear I felt standing outside that dark deserted street This fellow South African knowing the crime rate and especially the dangers for women. He was determined to tell me how insensitive I was to disturb his sleep. He had the audacity to tell me that the Money I paid was not worth the effort. I have traveled to many places both locally and abroad and this is absolutely the worst treatment I have ever received Usually in this business these types of difficulties are met with sympathy and understanding as would be expected of people in the “hospitality” industry. What absolute disgraceful behaviour. I sincerely hope the little money you received from me in payment will multiply ten thousand fold in misery for you as...

I have stayed with Ann and Ian at Pinoak Cottage for 15 months, with a short stay at the equally superb Squirrels Way. I can honestly say that this was the most wonderful, safe, secure and absolutely lovely long term accommodation that I could have imagined with Ann and Ian, warm, kind and friendly hosts. I am leaving with a heavy heart but I have made two amazing friends and I can wholeheartedly recommend Pinoak Cottage as a place to stay for either short or long term accommodation. There is just simply no other way to describe Pinoak other than a real treat and I will always be so glad that I was fortunate enough to be able to stay for as long as I have. Thank you Ann and Ian. You made my stay so happy and we will meet up for coffee's and cakes in the future. When a Guest is welcomed at the property by the Check In Manager with a smile and your luggage is smartly taken from your car boot, carried to your room, all the while enquiring how your journey was, then you know you're off to good start. Well done Romeo! It's the small amenities which then impressed me in my room, like picture framed wifi notice, monogrammed coasters, luggage stand. Choccies on the bed, huge tv, large shower and cotton sheets on a king size comfy bed ensured my stay was thoroughly enjoyable. Highly recommended. Hats off to the Owners of Pinoak Cottages....
