The Perfect Corner B&B — Hotel in Dihlabeng Local Municipality

As loadshedding is a constant problem in our daily lives and that the guesthouse has a generator was the reason we made a booking at this establishment, as we stayed there in the past. Yesterday there was an electrical problem in the town and the management left their staff to attend to the problem on their own. The backup generator for electricity supply was out of order and left the entire guesthouse in darkness, no heating in the middle of winter and without water, the management did not once attempt to make any effort in repairing the generator(Saturday until Sunday), when we raised the question to the staff on Sunday morning why the management is not available to assist us the answer was simply that they are unavailable and can't be reached. We insisted on getting hold of them as it was a horrible experience and we eventually obtained the numbers after getting hold of the manager Sulette and explaining the problem and asking for a refund for the nights stay she dropped the phone in my ear and switched off her phone refusing to take any calls. I would like The management to realize the importance of making sure that a backup generator needs to be maintained and serviced to ensure that it is kept in a working condition and ensuring a emergency repair service are available in case of people who are medicaly dependent on electricity to keep medical equipment like oxygen machines ect. running in these uncertain conditions we are experiencing with electricity, this negligence and don't care attitude could have cost someone's life !!!! Poor customer service!! This place is managed by people who have no care whatsoever about consumers rights. Employ people who are unprofessional and lack training in giving clients the correct information. Went to book the place in August for a function that was planned for September and payed in full...due to unforeseen circumstances we had to postpone for another date that was then set for October... again things didn't go according to plan and we just decided to cancel and put the event on hold ...when i informed them about refunding me my money back i was told they will get back to me and when they finally did they sent their receptionist to inform me that i wont get my money back if they dont find anyone to fill in for that day that was set for the event. No contractual agreement was made between myself and the Guest House where i signed and acknowledged that i have received information that should i cancel there will be a cancellation fee or worse Case scenario forfeit my money which would have been fair if that information was given to me prior to me paying and when you call the owner of the place to raise your concerns and try and reach a common ground thats fair for everyone...in a cowardly and rudely manner she dismisses you and tells you she will have her financial advisor contact you which never happened. I worked in the hospitality industry and I'm very fussy when it comes to where I sleep when travelling, so trust me when I say this is a PERFECT guest house with all safety and security measures in place! Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean with fresh and crisp excellent quality bed linen and comfortable bed. The bathroom was spotlessly clean and had both a bathtub and a shower - everything in the room was 5 Star quality (they actually should be charging more for what is offered here) The images on the website are a true reflection of this establishment! The only issue we had was during breakfast. We woke up very early to have an early breakfast because we had a morning event to attend. First, there was a mix-up with our order when we were given cooked breakfast that was for another table, and then we had to wait for over an hour for our food. We could have opted to leave without the breakfast but a stop at a takeaway, would have further delayed us. The breakfast room is also very small.
