Fourteenth Green Guest Lodge — Hotel in Eastern Cape

On a recommendation, we were booked into this establishment for a weekend. As I regularly travel to East London on business, we are always looking for a place that meets our expectations. Also one that we can use for our numerous business partners visiting East a London.||The rooms were spacious and generally met our expectations. The view over the golf course was great and all seemed well.||The problem with this place, I guess is that it is just nice. Nothing is particularly special and the small things that make a place special are just not there. ||The towels were not crisp and clean, the hand soap was either off or just smelled terrible and the fan did not work. If you don't have an air conditioner on a sweltering hot day, at least make sure that the fan in the room works. ||You have to pay for wifi and you don't even get a small chocolate or biscuit to welcome you or to day good night.||Daphne in the kitchen does however take service seriously and sorted out our problems for us.||The hand and body soaps are particularly bad and the smell of 'perm lotion' took days to wash off.||All in all, our experience was ok, and this is I guess frustrating when you realize the potential of the establishment. Really great hospitality, in a very tranquil area, with fantastic views of the golf course. The hosts were very welcoming. The bedrooms are spacious with en-suite bathrooms. There is a small veranda on each unit. Which is a great spot for coffee and sunrise. The rooms are kitted with a fan, kettle, coffee plunger with filter coffee, towels, chairs, desk, a very comfortablekind sized bed and so much more... There is also a bar fridge (with snacks/ beers/ wine etc) which you can pay for separately. Breakfast was amazing- with a choice of bacon and eggs, fresh fruit, cereals, muffins and a fresh pot of filter coffee. The restaurant area is large, spacious and has a great view of the golf course. I went for a run along past the golf course and down to Nahoon Beach. I felt safe in this area and came across a number of groups and individual runners/ walkers / cyclists.

All in all a very happy stay at the 14th...

What a total pleasure! I had a client who unexpectedly had to extend his stay in East London, and I wasn’t quite sure where to accommodate him. Then I remembered this place—and what a relief! The team stepped in immediately, sorted everything out effortlessly, and even allowed me to drop off my client without any fuss.

The service was seamless, the atmosphere was warm, and the welcome we received at reception was exceptional. I can’t remember the gentleman’s name who assisted us around 6:30 this evening, but he was truly fabulous—friendly, professional, and made everything feel easy.

The establishment itself is absolutely beautiful and well-kept. My client was so happy, and I was genuinely impressed. Thank you for making what could have been a stressful situation...
