Hathaway Guest House — Hotel in Eastern Cape

My experience at Hathaway House was the best part of my weekend in East London , I did not want to leave . Thank you for the beautiful rooms you offered to us to lay our hats down . In today's world we do not find the honest , friendly and bubbly personalities that you have .I thought i lost my ring which has much sentimental value to me and because of your honest kindness i have it back on my finger today . Every call I made , there was a very concerned and caring voice on the other side which in turn relaxed to the extent that i did not have to stress about not getting my ring back at all . I recently stayed at this Guest House and had a mixed experience. The staff were very friendly and professional, with special mention for Sinazo who was polite and highly competent. The management was also accommodating and provided an addition to our menu upon request, despite it not being included in our package. Adequate parking and easy access were definite pluses. The rooms were spacious, but unfortunately, there was no backup power during load-shedding. However, portable rechargeable bulbs were later provided. For the value you pay for the stay it could have been so much better! ||The room was nice, bed very comfortable, Breakfast was average, WIfi VERY good. Roof fan is amazing! Second night stay a lot more pleasant than the 1st evening. ||Lots can be improved in the rooms i.e. milk for guests to have coffee with, there were no hair dryer in our room, no cloth to wipe counter tops with, breakfast table only 2 pepper on no salt. If you used the salt that was on the counter - it was filthy and clogged. ||The pool were very dirty.
