What a gem and what a pleasant stay. Efficient and friendly check-in with the news that we had been upgraded to a bigger unit due to maintenance at the one we originally booked. The rooms were huge, the bathrooms luxurious and the added extras like fluffy bathrobes, electric blankets and hot water bottles were wonderful. The unit is very well rigged for loadshedding, and we honestly did not even notice the disruption. KlipHuisjes is well located, within in walking distance of the town but with a tranquil feel - the Bluegum trees made it feel as if you are in a forest. Our unit had a beautiful large veranda with comfy chairs and great view of the sunrise, the perfect spot for planning our meanderings for the day or poring over the loot collected in the evening. KlipHuisjes are pet friendly and we had a few friendly doggies visiting which just added to the charm - even the owners were nice, but then again, pet owners generally are! Our fireplace did not work so well but we concluded the wood was slightly wet, so I would recommend bringing your own, especially if you live in a drier area than Dullstroom. I would also like to thank the owner for his patience when I made the booking, as I was waiting for news from my daughter who had a health scare, and I was not sure if I could make the weekend. He kindly extended the deadline for payment, my daughter was fine, and we enjoyed a fantastic weekend...

Was one of the worst experiences we had with accommodation. On arrival we were welcomed by a non stop alarm going off with no one on the premises to help us. It was loadshedding at the moment as well (which was not a problem as we are all use to it by now) but there was no candles or lights to help light up the place while we waited for the power to come back on. The wood was soaking wet. There was no way you can make a fire with that kind of wood for the next month. We went to the garage to buy wood while we tried to get hold of ANY person from the agency we booked through to the owners of the place. Our attempts were fruitless. We attempted a shower while we waited for someone to come back to us. No warm water. That was the last straw. No light no fire and no warm water. Alarm going off. We were forced to look for alternative accommodation at this point as any normal person would have done. Was quite disappointed with the experience and we were not really compensated for this ordeal we went through by the owners or the agency. Shrugged it off as if it was nothing. Would...

Wouldn't stay there again. Firstly the lady who gives you the keys doesn't tell anyone there is an alarm or how to activate or deactivate it. All 3 of us that checked in within an hour of each other set our alarms off so she told no one who checked in and some alarms went off for ages. The walls are paper thin so you hear everything (the bedtime sounds were interesting to say the least). The little patio has a view onto the parking lot so you wouldn't use it. The inside is dark, the place is dirty: carpets, dishes oily etc (linen was clean), TV on wall too small for the space and too far from the bed where you have to watch it from. Awkward kitchenette and facilities and not well designed or laid out. Very noisy with the units right on the carpark area. No cupboard, just an open space in the bathroom to hang a few things.
