We arrived at Little Eden in Vanderbijlpark near Vereeniging were met by Belinda on 25 of July 2021. She was very friendly. Admittedly, the premises looked inviting until we arrived in the rooms.
Unfortunately, there was no hot water in the rooms upon us checking in. We promptly advised Belinda about this - since this was also the case in the room we booked for our kids. After contacting the owner it seemed she managed to convince the owner or manager to move us to different rooms.
Unfortunately, the shower in our new room did not work and again there was no hot water. Upon informing her she indicated that it is because the pipes were frozen as it was winter and it would be ok if we let the water run. This did not help. After switching on the aircon –we also discovered that the aircon did not work – We saw that she was powerless and was trying her best to fix what was broken. Being desperate, we decided to stay on since we booked for 3 nights. Sadly, we had very uncomfortable nights in a cold room as result of the aircon not working properly and blowing cool air all night and had to be switched off. In addition both the kettle and the TV was joined into a single electrical plug and the kettle kept on tripping when switched on . The following morning, we again woke up to not only having no warm water in the room but to having NO water at all. Trying to be understanding, we discovered that there was no water cuts in the area -it became clear that only some rooms has access to water. We had to use cold water in our kid’s room to just do the basics to eat breakfast.
After breakfast we arrived in to find both rooms still had no water – We spend another very cold night with no water and yet the kitchen had running hot water for the entire day. Feeling very uncomfortable and seeing that no action is has been taken we decided to go and buy water at our own cost. And, with no one on duty from 12:30 on Saturday, we opted to check out and leave to find alternative accommodation. We immediately informed Little Eden via email that we could not stay in rooms without heating and water and that we wanted a refund for the night we did not use. We were informed that a refund for two rooms night stay we will indeed be refunded for R1387. To date, we have not received a refund - even after multiple inquiries over the past 3 weeks. It has become clear the owner is avoiding our communication and keeps stalling. Unfortunately, it is clear that Little Eden needs serious maintenance since this is seriously lacking - despite the nice decorated rooms. Our stay was very uncomfortable.
It has now been 3 weeks since 24 July 2021 and yet still no refund or explanation as to when we will...
Read moreThe room was nothing like What I booked. The room was smaller than what was shown on their website. The linen and the pillows had stains on them. We had to call the reception to have them changed. The bed was really a mess. A king size bed is usually made out of 2 single beds bases and a king mattress is used. In this case it was a case of 2 single beds being joined together and a mattress pillow top was put on top to give an illusion that it was one mattress. Because my partner and I's weight differs, my side of the bed was lowered so the bed was not even which was really uncomfortable. The mattress on one side was smaller than the base and they the put some sort of wooden board between the base and the mattress and I honestly don't know why they did that because the board was protruding and my partner and I bumped that thing so many times. They used concrete face statue as side tables which was rather odd and spooky and the side lamps just didn't suit the theme of the room. The chair and table were just terrible. The website showed a swivel chair with armrest but instead we got a wooden chair which can't even support your back properly. The table was a steel table that one would use for catering events. The place also had a lot of ants. The ants the were so many that some would legit snuggle with us. The bathroom had a...
