Kuru-Kuru Guest House — Hotel in Ga-Segonyana Local Municipality

We didn’t even stay the night. We got there and it was just a complete disaster. I’m no snob and I don’t care if a place is a 1 star or a 5 star establishment. But please do not rely on the pictures you see on LekkeSlaap or other sites. I really wished I had taken some pictures but I just wanted to get out of there as quick as possible. Nasty and almost every outside seating area was broken and most probably a safety hazard. The room next to the one I was supposed to sleep in had a trash bin outside the door with at least 20 empty beer bottles stuffed into it and an ashtray overflowing with cigarette buts and buts all over the area around the room. The landscaping looks like no one has done anything in over a month and the building itself looked like it was in need of some serious repair. On top of all that, Kuru Kuru refused to refund anything even though we didn’t even unload our bags from our vehicle due to how bad this place looked. At least LekkeSlaap was willing to refund us half of the nights stay. I don’t post negative reviews but this place I just couldn’t not to. I just don’t want someone else to experience this...

Ah, the joys of our delightful stay at Kuru Kuru. Upon messaging her, the charming female host confirmed we'd be staying in the twin room. But surprise! We had the pleasure of experiencing a magical reservation mix-up where our pre-paid twin paradise was swapped for a cozy single chamber reminiscent of Harry Potter's cupboard. The audacity to even hint at charging us extra for this ‘upgrade’ was a comedic touch! The male host? Let's just say he wasn't winning any congeniality awards. Upon entering our regal suite, we were greeted by the lingering aroma of a chain-smoking marathon and beds that made prison cots feel like five-star luxuries. As a bonus, our neighbors decided to host their version of Woodstock and even brought their own special guests just to ensure the decibel levels were at a maximum and no one slept a wink. I had the pleasure of staying at Kuru-Kuru for three months, and I must say, it truly felt like a home away from home. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm welcome and exceptional service provided by the staff.

The accommodation itself was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. My room was spacious, with ample storage and a comfortable bed. The kitchen and bathroom facilities were modern and well-equipped.
