We had a family wedding on the Sunday, the Friday was a public holiday, so, we decided to make a long-weekend out of it. We chose Klyne Jiweel Guesthouse due to its proximity to the wedding venue which is literally around the corner.||||Our first impression was Wow ! The property is well kept, with neat lawns and sparkling swimming pool. The high boundary walls provided a secure feeling and were happy to have covered parking.||||The host, Wessie is really sweet and welcoming and you can see that her and her husband take a lot of pride in their property. Our room (No. 12) was clean and tidy and also has a guest toilet. We had little pillow chocolates each time the room was made up. ||||We loved the fact that there was a bar fridge in the room and more so, the filter coffee and bodum and a fresh carton of milk every day. A variety of glasses (wine and scotch) and cups for tea or coffee, and a full ice tray in the freezer upon arrival (nice touch).||||We opted for the breakfast on the Sunday morning @ R 140.00 per person - initially, we though that it was quite pricey, but we were pleasantly surprised by the spread that was on offer for breakfast. My only complaint - we felt a little rushed at breakfast, as we had barely dished up our yoghurt and muesli when our bacon and eggs etc. were brought to our table (oh, and my eggs were hard when I had ordered runny eggs).||||The second reason we chose Klyne Jiweel Guesthouse was that the majority of their rooms had KING SIZE Beds, this is very important to us when we travel - so well...
Read moreWhat a magnificent surprise Klyne Jiweel turned out to be. Wessie was a fantastic host. The room and bathroom was huge and had an aircon which was greatly appreciated. The gardens are gorgeous, the pool was sparkling clean and breakfast was wonderful. A selection of cereals, including muesli and yoghurt, a cooked breakfast, with special accommodations made for my youngest son who doesn't eat bacon, eggs, 2 types of sausages, tomato, toast and baked beans. He had a chicken schnitzel instead. Muffins and koeksisters were available, but we were sadly too full to try them. The bed was delightfully comfortable and the selection of coffees and teas in the room outstripped any 5-star hotel's; including Chai Latte and Jacob's Cappuccinos among many others. I wish we'd stayed here another night, but there will be a next time. For the rate we expected far less and we were...
