We arrived at the Guest house and what welcoming hostess Amelia when we arrived on Tuesday 7th August 2018. The Family guest suite we booked with the 2 rooms was lovely and tastefully decorated. ||With my arrival i said to Amelia that i will book on short notice rooms and add to my booking as my daughter at Groenkloof Hospital for surgery and will be in ICU/High-care for a few days maybe. All were fine with her until i decide the Thursday morning that i would rather move back to the family suite that’s much warmer and have bath facilities for my 4 year granddaughter. We Granddaughter was rather sick and had a bad evening and i left the Friday morning early to get medicine for her without having breakfast that i paid for but did send Amelia a message that my granddaughter didn’t sleep well and we overslept. I start receiving messages and messages from her. I stayed in several hotels/guesthouses nationally and internationally and we go as we want to. We paid a service, i like what i see when i booked my accomodation and pay what i have to. ||I also wake-up not feeling to well, i visit my daughter at hospital and my son in law will meet up with us later that day again and i will return home. ||After he arrived i decided to go back to guest house and to booked the other room in family suite for me to sleep over also Friday night as I wasn’t feeling up to drive back to Hartbeespoortdam. ||What a unpleasant experience i had because i asked her to booked the room again for 1 night. Her words “i can’t, i have people from france coming tomorow and i already prepared the room for them today”. That was a first to me, a guesthouse who refused a booking for a open room that will only have a guest in the next day. ||This morning my son in law and my grandaughter were basically through out of the room with her husband standing at the door at half past eight and asking when will they leave and they start cleaning the room while they still busy. Checking time was only for 10:00 Saturday morning. Rather disappointing that my granddaughter of 4 years tell me how rude...

Read moreFrom the start this was a great choice. Paul, one of the owners, was quick to respond to my questions and very pleasant. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by Irma, the other owner, and Paul’s wife and Paul. Our rooms were down a flight of stairs but Paul was quick to make sure our bags were taken to our rooms. On our way down we got our first glimpse of the beautiful and impeccably manicured French style garden and pool ! Outside of each room were a table and chairs for a pleasant place to have morning coffee or just sit and enjoy the garden. Our rooms were tastefully appointed with great extras like a coffee maker, biscotti, and some toiletries. The beds were very comfortable. We were greeted by the house mascots, two adorable and sweet cocker spaniels ! The third member of the family (a senior dachshund) we got to meet later (I have a soft spot for him as I am a dachshund owner). Breakfast is available on request for an additional fee (it was well worth it).||Now a word about the hosts…they know how to greet and treat people ! I cannot ever remember having hosts that were so accommodating, pleasant, easy going and charming ! I felt as though I was leaving old friends when I departed after only two nights. ||I would highly recommend La Vida Luka to anyone traveling to Pretoria ! You won’t be disappointed.
