What a gem! I can't really find the words! The place is magical! I enjoyed myself thoroughly during a long stay with Mandy and her amazing team. The food and service were wonderful! You can just come for a nice meal in the gardens, or a tea, or book a group you'll never forget. I made lifelong friends with Mandy and her husband and am very grateful to have come down the hill to take a quick detour to check them out. When I found this gem, it became an oasis immediately. The experience is so unique, and the property is incredibly cared for. Don't hesitate to enjoy a quiet, unique, and homey experience. Treat them well, and they will indeed treat you well! Very upmarket experience with a professional chef and superb tuscan decor. Very calming space that was created. I ate their chicken curry, and what a treat it was. The pork belly was delicious, but compared to the curry, it lacked in presentation. The coffee, locally sourced (Pierre's coffee), was a warm welcome as we had this coffee at our wedding...which brought back fond memories. For desert we had the chocolate and beetroot cake and a dompedro. The dompedro was divine and so was the cake, but the frosting drizzle of the cake was still sugary. Looks can be deceiving… Thought we are going to be in for a treat… not so much. Food was very average…we had breakfast… nothing special. After the waiter opened the champagne and it bubbled over he told us the champagne is not chilled… and indeed it wasn’t. Lovely…The waiters are unfriendly and they hover.. as soon as you’re done with a glass or plate they are there to whisk it away.
