Meintjieskop Self-Catering Accommodation — Hotel in Gauteng

We stayed at the Meintjieskop Guest Lodge for one night in June. The property is located in a very beautiful and safe neighbourhood in Pretoria. The presidential palace is located right across the road and because of that, the property is not subject to power outages due to load shedding.||The rooms themselves (we saw two of them) are very comfortable and nicely appointed. Despite the very cold weather, the rooms were kept warm by the under floor heating and electric blankets.||The location of the property is very good; there are a few restaurants a short walk away and it is nice to walk in the area to see the embassies.||Breakfast was good.||The hosts are extremely helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to ensure that we had a good stay, providing information, tips, etc. ||I highly recommend this property and would definitely stay here again if I found myself back...

We had just one night here in January prior to catching a train to Cape Town. Prior to arrival, we had excellent email communication with the owners who arranged a taxi for us from the airport (in fact the owner picked us up himself). They then arranged someone next day to show us the main sites of Pretoria prior to dropping us at the Rovos Rail station. We also had an evening meal at the guest house. We were the only people booked in that night and the owners spent a lot of time talking to us which was very interesting. The house itself is a little dated decor wise but it had all we needed and there is a pool and nice gardens. It is located in a great area opposite the Presidential Palace and surrounded by a few embassies. The owner even took the time when we arrived to walk us down to see the Union Buildings. Were delighted with our choice of guest house for 2 days in Pretoria before heading off on Rovos rail. Our room was lovely with large bathroom and free wifi. Very peaceful, safe location in the embassy district with tranquil garden and pool area with free secure parking on site.||Ate in our first night as were too tired to head out, but the meal was so delicious opted to eat in the following night too! Superb home cooking. No drinks licence but wine is available with dinner. All really good value.
