Our stay was comfortable and Nthateng was nothing if not welcoming and helpful. Here place is as described, minutes walking to the Mandela House, Vilakazi Street, Tutu House etc. We foiund it central and she made it easy for us to come and go. She also was kind and interested in our comings and goings and general whereabouts since she feels responsible for the safety of her guiests! I did not eat breakfast at the B & B but she was kind enough to let me make a cupof tea inteh morning, to wake up. She was punctilious in taking us to the airport on time, early in the morning, altho Ubers are readily available (she charges pp). And she keeps her place sparkling clean. There were a few small problems that did not get resolved: a lamp that did not work, no toilettries apart from hand soap, and a disappearing hairdryer (she eventually bought a new one), and slow internet (which also got fixed in two days), and the fact that she played the radio or TV on speakers that could be heard throughout the house All in all we were pleased with our introduction to Soweto and the lovely people...
Read moreThis B&B offers the best of Soweto hospitality. Spotless rooms and accommodation with comfy beds, great showers and a good breakfast. The owner Nthateng cannot make you feel more welcome - and goes above and beyond the call of duty by acting as chauffeur ferrying her guests to gigs, the airport and tourist attractions. The neighbourhood is equally friendly - and safe! The local area is wonderfully maintained and neighbours go out of their way to make you feel welcome.||||The location is perfect. A two minute walk takes you onto the vibrant Vilakazi street with restaurants, bars and of course the famous house where Nelson Mandela lived, now a wonderful museum. It is also a 20 min drive to the FNB stadium so perfect for gigs and events. There are also local tours including a cycling tour of the local area which is great fun.||||Soweto is a must see for all tourists and South Africans alike and Nthateng's B&B is a great base to explore this wonderful place. My only complaint is that we could not...
Read moreNthateng runs a tight ship! The room & common areas were kept spotless & there was a very good full breakfast every morning.||||The area is nicknamed "the Beverly hills of Soweto" and it fits. There are trendy restaurants & boutiques that would fit right in the upscale part of town anywhere, but also plenty of street vendors if your still looking for cheap souvenirs.||||I did a bike tour that took me into grittier parts of Soweto as well, but still felt very safe in the whole neighborhood. ||||Nthateng was fun to talk to, full of advice & have me a ride to the airport even though it was terribly early in...
