OR Tambo Self Catering Apartments — Hotel in Gauteng

My wife and I stayed here three times in two different apartments for a total of ten nights. Although convenient for the airport, there is no noticeable aircraft noise and the neighbourhood is quiet. The apartments are included in a very secure complex consisting of mainly permanent residents. The two bedroom apartments are spacious and modern with comfortable beds. We made good use of the quality kitchen appliances. There are two bathrooms, one with a shower enclosure and the other with a bath. Our ground floor apartment had a North-facing courtyard which was a very pleasant spot in which to soak up the late winter sun. Communication and assistance from the managers, Dave and Delene, were exceptional. They went out of their way to accommodate our requests and always responded promptly. I stayed 2 nights for a nearby conference. Communication from the host and logistical arrangements were excellent. The place itself is fine - spacious and clean - lovely comfy bed but dated bathroom (handheld shower and no curtain). The place is in a secure complex around a pretty area of marshland and there is a little pool and some loungers, so you could chill for an afternoon. It's close to the airport but far enough away from the flight path that you sleep well but it's a grotty area so not recommended if you don't have a car or take an uber from the complex gate. You'd need to drive to shops if you wanted food - there are some strip mall areas quite close (great coffee in the News Cafe). We had a wonderful stay at this apartment with our two children. The space was immaculately clean, and the secure complex gave us peace of mind throughout our visit. The location was very convenient for us and we could easily order groceries and take outs. The beds were incredibly comfortable, as was the entire apartment. The hosts were friendly and went above and beyond to accommodate our needs, especially with our youngest child. They provided a cot and ensured everything was perfectly catered to make our stay as comfortable as possible. It truly felt like a home away from home.
