After driving from Johannesburg to Mossel Bay and reaching the hotel, we tried to check in and were told that we were booked from the following day and that the hotel was fully booked for the day we were supposed to check in. When I asked the lady at the reception, she advised that she had contacted ALL of the guest that were supposd to check in and they all confirmed that they were going to check in.
I too am a frequent guest card holder and I have NEVER been called by a Tsogo Sun to find out if I was checking in.
Nevertheless, the reception lady basically stopped talking to us and left me and my family stranded without accomodation. I ended up staying in another hotel which in the end was actaully a closer location to the beach and the activities nearby.
So thank you Tsogo Sun, I didnt ever think you would dissapoint me for the rates you charge but well done!!!
Dont stay at the hotel unless you staying for free, willing to accept bad service and prepared to accept screenshots of their reservation system instead of a confirmation email.

Read moreWe decided to go there for our anniversary and was looking for a nice stay over and buffet dinner and when I did the booking, I specifically asked about the buffet and they told us that by that time, they would have started with buffet dinners which was not the case when we arrived - it only started the next day and we were only there for the one night. When we arrived at the hotel we had to wait a were long time for someone to assist with check in - not that there were many people to help - there were nobody at reception!!||I woke up in the middle of the night in a very warm room and realized that the aircon was not working and we could not get it started again - very unpleasant sleep the rest of the night.||Breakfast time the lady doing the eggs was not there when we wanted a fried eggs and we stood there with our plates for quite a long time before someone called her from the kitchen to assist us.||The hotel will most definitely don't see me again and I will also not recommend any one...

Then you have to call the reception to reset the AC. Move rooms twice because of this. Staff from reception come to the room to look. But it nothing was done. ||We had to move room. In the first room, the safe was missing. Wow, so then you just ask yourself how safe this hotel is. The est is that the reception does not know where the safe is.
