Karoo Life Bed & Breakfast — Hotel in George

Very welcoming and friendly. I was greeted with a glass of Port and shown to my room. This was a double room with a tv, coffee/tea facilities and bathroom with shower only. The room was neat and tidy, had ample blankets and comfortable beds (always a plus) I was told about the make-up of the town and where to find dinner or a wine tasting... I was a little late for the wine-tasting as the farms close at 5, as do most of the restaurants, if they were even open in the first place... Breakfast was a standard full English which was satisfying, along with some coffee and orange juice. It was exactly what I thought it was going to be, a comfortable place to put my head down for the night. I will definitely make use of this spot again if I ever find myself travelling through Calitzdorp again, judging by the beauty of that Route 62, it might just happen again sooner...

This is an Absolutely Awesome B&B I had the pleasure of staying there for 1 night on the 24 April myself & a friend were on our way to Knysna via Carlitzdorp. We each had our own rooms in the Garden rooms It was so lovely & peaceful there & the hosts very very helpful as I am an elderly gentleman walking with a crutch & cant climb up stairs that's why we got the garden rooms.i will attach photos of the rooms & the cat there just loved my room & spent the afternoon on my bed as I love cats. The garden is so Beautiful you hear nothing but the birds, I wish we could have spent another night there. I give Karoo Life B&B 5 stars the hosts are so friendly they make you feel at home. The Breakfast was Delicious. Thank you for making our stay there so memorable even though it was for 1 night I hope to go back there on my next visit to Carlitzdorp. God Bless...

I should give it zero stars. But unfortunately not an option. Owner/chef extremely rude.

We did arrive with an extremely well behaved dog. No where was a sign that says no dogs. The door was opened and the dog was seen. We were ushered to a table. The next moment this aggressive man just about storms upon us saying no dogs allowed in my restaurant. And while i respect that the way we were “chased away” left a very sour taste.

Anyway, quite pleased about that end result since I’ve now read some other reviews.
