Both Erica and Martin were excellent hosts who went out of their way to please and accommodate our every need. They also offer access to their outdoor (undercover) braai area which is downstairs and supply everything required to braai free of charge. The sparkling pool will be great in summer when the water will be much warmer and is also solar heated.||||The views over the Wilderness wetland are simply magnificent and the bird life prolific as the owner's attract a wide variety of indigenous species to their garden. The children took to feeding the birds which were very tame and this was a highlight of their stay as the fork tailed Drongos sat on their hands to feed. There were even a pair of the beautiful and endemic Knysna Loerie always close by. A number of wild Bush buck (antelope) can be seen feeding on the grassy plain below which is part of a protected National Parks area. Take a pair of binoculars!||||The rooms were very spacious with a TV in the main bedroom (full satellite or DSTV is offered which was really good to have during Wimbledon and World Cup soccer!) and linked TV in the living room. Well equipped self-catering kitchen area which is kept spotlessly clean and serviced regularly, along with the bedrooms and bathroom (shower and bath).||||The only downside with staying on the top floor of someone's home without complete privacy is that there is the feeling of having to watch noise levels or what is said (and the same must be true for the live-in owners as well!). Our children were extra quiet as they were aware of making a noise which could be heard downstairs. There is free and open access to the ground floor by a set of stairs which of course also has major advantages. Guests also have their own private access via a set of stairs on the outside...

Read moreWe stayed in Oog-in-al guest house for 4 nights with our 2 kids. We found the guest house absolutely perfect for families - clean, spacious, includes a well equipped small kitchenette, great pool, absolutely stunning views of the national park, river and lake right in front of the house, and a very warm welcome and hospitality by Erica and Martin, the hosts, which live below in the down stairs section. Martin was kind enough to help us set up the Braai (BBQ) with wood, helped us light it up and joined us for drinks after the meal. Finally they provided us with free washing service which with two kids traveling around was very helpful. Thanks Erica and Martin for the kind...
