Pictures Guest House — Hotel in George

We only had a one-night stay but it was one of the most memorable of our 2 week trip to South Africa. We felt at home from the moment we were welcomed by the great hosts. The rooms are very large and comfortable, but the time we spent downstairs felt like visiting good friends. We had interesting discussions, a lot of laughs and even sang together. And the food was absolutely amazing! It was chilly and windy outside when we visited, so we spent the evening warm and cozy indoors, but when the weather is right it must be great as well having diner outside, next to the pool and the outdoor bar. And as could be expected, after a good night's sleep, we enjoyed a great breakfast before moving on to our next stop.

We cannot recommend this place...

We had a lovely greeting from Eric, the manager, and all the staff were friendly. The rooms were lovely and the pool area was fun with the giraffe having a drink. Unfortunately, no one has trained the breakfast staff, or Eric, on food allergies and in this day and age that is utterly unacceptable. I told the waitress that I am allergic to dairy, so milk, cream, butter and cheese, and then she asked if I'm OK with bacon and mushrooms! That completely floored me. I also asked for peppermint tea and was given green tea with peppermint flavour. Annoyingly, I'm also very allergic to caffeine, so I spent a very unpleasant time in my room with the sweats and shaking. The owner, it's his responsibility, needs to conduct training on this sort of thing...

This is a great place to stay, and I can't recommend it highly enough.Outstanding service and quality. My room had everything I could possibly need,tea/coffee station had the biggest assortment of snacks and beverages I've ever seen in a guesthouse.There is an outdoor pool and landscaped gardens which is stunning! The bed,linen and pillows are very good quality. The place is wonderfully peaceful.The service is phenomenal! I will definitely go again!!
