Just what you need for a short stay! The restuarant overlooks the kiddies play area, so you're able to watch them while you're enjoying a bite. Quite a few Breakfast options are available although it's not part of the room rate. The rooms are spacious and beds comfortable. However, cleaning staff needs to pay more attention to detail, like replenishing the bathroom cosmetics, checking that the balcony and room is clean and not have remains from the previous occupants. Furthermore, the hotel doesn't have a backup generator, so should there be loadshedding or a general power outage, you will be left in the dark, however they do provide you with tealight candles. What I quite liked was the bit of sense humor they've got with the list of items they recommend to keep yourself busy and lastly the nearby attractions were very helpful.

Definitely the wordt Protea hotel I ever stayed at. 1. Staff is all over the place. Don't know how to conduct any guest properly. Some staff dress / present very informal. 2. Staff do not know how to handle a room account and sent me up and down to make payment for food and beverages. 3. Food that was prepared by the cheff was brilliant! Poor display and dull presentation of food on counter. No water or juice with meals. 4. Beautifil building but not kept up well. Worn down furniture. Surely not what you would expect of a 4star hotel. 5. Well maintained landscaping. Conclusion: Not getting what your money's worth.

Rooms were great, amazing views of the Golf course and mountains. There was a delicious snack pack waiting for me in my room when I arrived together with a welcome letter. As a first time guest this was a very unexpected delight. Waited service in the evenings however needs some attention. The service was slow and only after 10 minutes of sitting down and waiting, did a waiter come and attend to me. I expected faster service in the dining room considering this is a 4 star hotel. Overall I enjoyed my stay and the check in and check out process was fast and efficient. Will definitely be going back.

Disliked · The cleanliness of the staff and the management is definetely incompetent in providing resolutions This was the worst holiday I have ever had.... From the time I arrived there were only issues I booked 4 rooms in total and 3 out of the 4 experienced issues. ROOM 327 We were given dirty bedding on the first day with chocolate marks on, the guy came to replace the duvet however when we opened the bedding we saw blood marks on the sheets as well... We informed them as well regarding the broken curtain but nothing was done about it. The drainage system was over flowing all the time where the water would almost reach the room... The manager Thando came out to have a look on Sunday evening the next morning I had shower again with a blocked drain.. ROOM 319 We left early on Sunday to have a good day out, when we came back at 21:45pm the room wasn't clean... My sister was in this room and she went to the reception to advise them they made her wait for another period of time for the manager to come... The manager Thando came with us to the room had a look at the mess in the room, goes to the bathroom, of which the shower door which wasn't working since day 1, basically after he left the door was hanging to the one side which is obviously a danger to the guests using the facility, they were informed about this as well and nothing was done regarding this. This unit also didn't have a fridge. As we left the room in the parking area at 22:00pm Thando asks my sister who was already furious if she would be checking out... This is the last thing that I expected from a Top management staff at your reputable hotel this is pure incompetence. Thando had such an attitude no apology came from his side until which I had forced an apology out of him. ROOM 325 I have informed them that this unit was smelling very mouldy and this unit didn't have a fridge, nothing was done regarding this.Thando then advised us we must speak to Andiswa and Carryn Lee...

Unfortunately... We did not enjoy the stay. Your staff, menus, breakfast, should i go on. First morning of our stay breakfast was enough for 1 person and we were not even late we were there at 9h40 coffee was cold staff unfriendly, on our last night we had dinner in the fairway restaurant my daughter and i ordered chicken burgers only to be served with 2 mini burgers each to make up for the normal burgers they did not have. We were not told they do not have or asked if we wanted anything else i believe we were short changed of a normal burger and still paid the full price. A response from you saying we will work on our shortfall is a smack in the face. Coming from cape town travelling that far is a total waste of our holiday as this left a bitter taste in our mouth. The only and the only person that was most friendly greeted us with a friendly face and on our last name is LONWABO... THE rest of the staff including the hotel manager can learn alot from him, a real GEM, a real star, we wanted to reward him handsomely with a tip but he refused it by saying Mrs J i am only doing my JOB. Wow, that was priceless. Before coming to KING GEORGE HOTEL we came from PROTEA HOTEL SALDANAH THE most friendliest staff ever greeted us on our last name all the time smiled non stop that stay was a real home away from home stay... SALDANAH PROTEA HOTEL you guys ROCK. Breakfast there was great as well service excellence gets a 100%. Please do not aggrevate me with a lame response. You can certainly take a page out of SALDANAH PROTEA HOTEL... King george protea hotel leaves much to...

One thing about this hotel is DIRTY the bedrooms linen and towels always dirty. It was my second time getting DIRTY linen and towels First time it was me and my husband and I complain of the same thing and room service wasn't good enough, then the manager apologized gave us free food and we take it it was a mistake. But for second time I can't complain for one thing again I prefer to post on social networks so that they can change and it's not about free food it's about my family's health. We went for breakfast nice sitting in our table eating time one of the staff member came to ask my husband something about pro card then my hubby give the guy what he was asking what ever he was doing with the pro card it took him 45mins and we had to wait for him to leave because hi is standing on top of my son and my husband. The worst thing the staff member put his hands on the table the Nails was long and dirty and he stand in between my son and my husband. Don't forget we are the PRO CARD MEMBER FOR 18YRS and for the past years we never received this service. So one of the staff member she was so nice came to say hello to as because she remembered us and I wa chatting with her her colleague called her name and looked away ,but this ladyshame she ignored her ,because i dont understand what was the call for and you look away after that.I want to know what was that mean ? Tht specific hotel need to train the staff a better services and Hygiene. We booked for a family of 4 but give us two bath towels . I would like the manager to...
