We were very frustrated and disappointed with our stay here.

We arrived and sat down for lunch, ordered wine but the restaurant had no ice and brought us the wrong wine. Then we were told the hake has not arrived so they couldn't offer us what was on the lunch menu.

We then had to walk into the kitchen 5 times to go and get service ourselves. The barman walked in 20 min later with an attitude to take our order.

We decided to order fries for a snack only to receive them uncooked. We had to go elsewhere for lunch.

In the evening we decided to give it another go for supper. We ordered a brandy and got whisky instead. We also ordered the cheese platter for R180 but got the most appalling plate of soggy toast and old cheese.

This was when we decided to talk to the manager for whom we had to wait another 20 min.

We showed him the cheese platter and he even said that was not what the cheese platter looks like. This was the most disappointing moment for us as the chef was deliberately serving us the wrong food.

The bedroom is beautiful, spacious and clean. The views are amazing but the service makes this place a 1 star and definitely not worth the price tag.

Would...

Stayed 1 night at September. Family with 2 preteens. We had a very big room, the one right at the entrance. In short: very convenient, quiet, good breakfast, and amazing view - the ocean is just in front. Very good value for money. If we weren't in a hurry, we would have stayed 1 more night. We didn't book in advance, and arrived after dark, not a trivial thing at South Africa. We saw on Booking it had availability, but wanted to see the place first. They even agreed for a discount, since the original price was a bit above our desired budget, so overall it was about 1300R, including breakfast. It's a complex of few buildings, we were in the main front one. Only waking up in the morning, we understood to what a beautiful place we arrived, with the Ocean spread all around us, just out of the window and balcony. They also had a pool, but the weather was too cold. There's a secure parking too. Service was very good and friendly, they also helped us to book a Pizza delivery (they do serve dinner). Highly recommended, especially given Plettenberg Bay is a very nice place to spend a...

It's not a 5 star hotel. It's more of a 3 star hotel. There's tonnes of problems here. -we paid more for a twin room, they didn't give us this, despite us calling them to confirm 2 times including on the day. -air conditioning broke and they spent 30 minutes pressing the on and off button to fix it. We had to tell them the error E1 message means it's a problem with the filter and they finally understood -wifi doesn't work and there's power cuts multiple times an hour which they don't understand you need to manually turn on. They just say deal with it, shower in the dark when it's pitch black outside and use a torch to try to eat your room service breakfast -they told us where to park, we said is this fine. They assured us to park on the side and not in a bay. 4am we get a call saying we need to move our car because other guests need to leave. Any 5 star hotel would fix any problems they caused. Not make it the customers problem to 'just...

Nice but definitely not a 5 star, more like 3 star! Great location, lovely staff, but definitely not a five star. Evident in the lack of attention to detail - bathroom blinds covered in rust, bedroom windows running with water in the morning, cars to be parked by guest not valet, cleaning average, holes in bathroom towels. Wi-Fi was absolutely terrible, by far the worst over the course of a two week trip (that includes time on a safari!) While there was a room guide book, it was not helpful. There were pages on the owner’s story, but nothing on where to eat, no suggestion about the whale watching tours which the area is known for, or the hiking in the area. Thanks Google! Room looked in the back of a private house. No views of any kind. Patio furniture basic and rust covered. Nice area, but would not return

Good location across the street from the ocean. Service however was disappointing. We had two suites booked and only got one. The second room was a significant lower category however they tried to sell it to us as the same category as the other room which matched the description on which we based our decision to book the place. Further the room was double booked and the other guess also showed up with a key which was totally unacceptable as now a total stranger had access to our room. After long discussions they then gave us another room which surprisingly matched our booking. Looked like they lost total control over the bookings. Rather disappointing as we had high expectations. Otherwise the facilities were ok.

If what you are looking for is affordability and comfort Robberg Beach Lodge is a place for you. Tucked in a tiny corner of the world is this warm and relaxed paradise clothed by a lush of green vegetation. It overlooking the blue vastness of the Indian ocean tops it all. The food are made out of love! Best eggs I've ever had and their Omelette is out of this world. The Mamas in the kitchen are superheros!
