Marlicht Flats. — Hotel in Hibiscus Coast Local Municipality

The flat we stayed in was as expected.

The bad: Unfortunately the flat was close (5m) to the stairs where the smokers area on each floor is as well. This meant that whenever smokers used it, our flat smelled like stale smoke. They should really move the smoking section away from the flats to some corner of the property. The smell was too much. The staircase barrister came loose and unfortunately it was not fixed in the 9 days we were there. This made using the stairs risky because of wet floors and sharp screws sticking up in the air. The braais and full bins in the braai area were not cleaned daily. Annoying if you have to clean the braai before being able to use it and to not have anywhere to throw rubbish. You are limited to the few DSTV channels they've selected. Quality of TV reception was poor. Luckily we didn't watch a lot of TV. The cleaning staff didn't clean under the beds or on top of closets once while we were there.

The good: The receptionist was very kind and offered to sort out issues as we encountered them. The view from the flats on the top floors is great! The flat is well situated and feels safe. The rates are decent. The pool is great and always clean. The garden is well maintained.

Worth a visit if you like the quieter part of Margate, want to be right on the beach and have stunning views. It is critical that the bad points above are...

I had a wonderful stay at this holiday flat. It was clean, cozy, and in a great location. The flat was well-equipped with all the necessary amenities, and the decor was charming. The host was responsive and accommodating, making our stay enjoyable. The view from the flat's balcony was breathtaking, and we enjoyed many beautiful sunrises during our stay.

However, I would suggest a couple of improvements for future clients. First, a larger television would be a great addition to the living area for more entertainment options. Additionally, having Wi-Fi available would enhance the overall experience, making it easier for guests to stay connected and plan their outings. Spent one night at Marlicht. This place has it all. Self-catering units with absolutely everything you will need to make your stay an enjoyable and memorable one. It is neat as a pin. Has all the modern amenities that one looks for in a holiday facility. It's a stone's throw from the stunning city centre of Margate, and a hop, skip, and a jump from the beach. Marlicht and the beautiful golden beach with soul-soothing rolling waves, are literally a gate apart.
