Fairways Boutique Hotel — Hotel in KwaDukuza Local Municipality

Upon my arrival I rang the bell at the gate numerous times before someone let me in and once I was in, I called numerous times and walked around before I could find someone to assist me and give me my room key. The pictures on booking.com are deceiving. I was given a tiny room with a view of the parking area. I complained about this to the resort manager who kindly offered me an alternate room. The TV was too close to the bed and gave a limited view. The courtyard outside my room was dirty. There was dust around the tub, lizard poop and webs on the walls which I cleaned to make my stay bearable. I opened a drawer to unpack some items and it was broken and fell on my foot. The kettle element had such a short connection that as I picked up the kettle, the element fell to the ground. The mugs in my room were chipped and unmatching. There was an argument outside my room, with lots of cursing that kept me up and due to this I was then offered another upgrade, I was moved to room 1 and had to repack and unpack again late at night. At night I heared scratching sounds in the ceiling and cupoard which culd have been rats. The neighbours TV was also blarringly loud and despite the aircon on, I still heard the disturbance. There was a communal area which was filthy, the kitchen and fridge was in a terrible state, I have supporting pictures for all of this. When I arrived the toilet at the reception area was also untidy and messy. On day 2 possibly a monkey invaded my room while I was out by coming through a window that does not close and clawed and consumed my pizza and Woolies shortbread. I reported this to the resort manager and did not get a satifactory response, instead she said that this was a first time she heard of these things and all clients usually ask to return to room 1 as it is their best! The cleaner confirmed that the window does not close and that monkies sometimes invade the rooms. I will not return to Fairways and I expected a refund for my dismal and dissappointing experience. The first thing I saw, was that there was no side table or lamp on one side of the bed or plug point. ||||2. Only one of the two plug points on the right side of the bed (by the sliding door) worked. This is the only plug point to charge cellphones or plug in a hairdryer. I could not see myself in a mirror to do my hair. ||||3. The room was dirty, chocolate wrapper and Lego on the floor, a two inches of old burnt out candle in a drawer and a dirty bath.||||4. There were very stained gowns and one had a used tissue in the pocket. I gave them to Martie and she never brought clean ones.||||5. Toilet seat stained and dirty. The carpet is filthy.||||6. Bath plug impossible to use. It had a hairpin put through the plastic. ||||7. Luxury suite with a double bed was actually two single beds pushed together with a split in the middle with a duvet that was too small. ||||8. Every time Martie changed her channel on her TV ours would change. I brought this to her attention and she said ‘something was wrong’. Three channels only. Despite my husband’s request to put one channel onto CNN and we’re advised by Martie that ‘the owner’ would do this, it was not done. ||||9. The air conditioner started making a big noise at three o’clock in the morning and we had to switch it off despite it being humid. ||||10. I had a cold breakfast with undercooked eggs.
