I was in McGregor for a wedding recently, driving about 3h on the day of the event and booked to stay for the night before heading home the next morning. I had let GG know I would be arriving late for check-in, and then realised perhaps I should aim to arrive early so I could freshen up and change, and not have to drive in a suit. I contacted the hotel and the host Sarel was super-accommodating to my request.||||The room was spacious, big shower, big bed, plenty of cool air - a surprise, given it was 42 Celsius that day - and everything you need. Fast free wifi, a splash pool right outside (which I made use of before and after the wedding!), plenty of parking, and loads of peace and quiet. Breakfast included as well, which was great.||||The staff are extremely friendly and helpful - Sarel was assisting a guest with a puncture when I was leaving - and the stay was wonderful. Absolutely 10/10 will stay there again when I am...
Read moreWe stayed in Barn 1 and 2. The rooms were clean and comfortable, except for the filthy dirty hanging chair in our room. The main door to our room was badly jammed. We had to kick the door to open it, and slam the door to close it. The property really needs some attention. The grass hasn’t been cut and is full of weeds and dog poo. The pool was green and clearly hasn’t been attended to in weeks. The outside furniture was too dirty to sit on, or filled with water or fallen over. The property looked shabby and uncared for. The Wi-Fi didn’t work, and the cell phone reception was very poor, so it was very difficult to send or receive emails or messages. The breakfast was disappointing. The lady in the kitchen wasn’t even told that there were 5 of us coming for breakfast. She did well considering. There was no management or owner around. The place felt abandoned. Definitely...

We booked both barns and stayed in barn two for a wedding we were attending.
Sarel accomdated us on booking in early so that we had time to get ready. Very efficient and friendly customer service.
The rooms were clean and spacious. Each came equipped with a hot blanket as it definitely got cold!
Breakfast in the morning was a choice between muesli and yoghurt or toast and eggs. I do wish there were seconds as the portions were quite small. Regardless, very nice.
My only complaint would be that the bathroom floor was extraordinarily cold with the sort-of shower mat. The water pressure was also nom existent if the barn next door's...
