Machauka Lodge — Hotel in Lephalale Local Municipality

We were on a field and sampling trip and we used Machauka Lodge as our base for the weekend. The first contact was with the receptionist. She was helpful and very very friendly. She knows how to talk to people from all over South Africa. She also know her way around the area and gave us excellent tips on where to go. Even the security guard was friendly. We moved to our rooms and it was nicely kept clean. Beautiful big shower in room 10. There is a small fridge in the room. There is a TV with some DSTV channels and the air-conditioner works 💯. My room had an outside view with a small balcony and in the mornings you can see the animals coming to the water hole. There is a play area for kids. And there are beautiful open green grass spaces. Security is on point and there is a separate gate to the accomodation rooms and the cars park close to the room so it is safe. There is a nice outside pool with the deepest end approximately 1.5 meters. We took a late night swim and it was awesome. The restaurant is warm (fireplace) and cozy. Clean and fresh table cloths covered the tables. The restaurant staff were very helpful and friendly too. We went for different meals each night to try and broaden our food sampling. We did the same for breakfast. The omelette was beautifully prepared. I didn't like the chicken livers though because of some vinegar taste. The curry was too mild but hot curry is my preference. Machauka lodge is just too beautiful for words. The security was friendly and welcoming, and happy to direct to where I need to go for check-in. The lady who checked me in was friendly and assisted with a great smile and was happy to answer any questions I had. Waiters, top of the range 👌 Food, very delicious, mouth-watering, enjoyed both dinner and breakfast, usually when out at lodges, I prefer eating in my room, but the beauty of the place made me have dinner under the night sky with beautiful lighting and calming music, and outdoor breakfast with beautiful views. Room-I was welcomed by Impalas outside my room, a beautiful sight-to-see, inside, it was beautiful, spacious, clean and need. And for the mosquitoes, I was given Doom, which helped a great deal 😁

To be honest this is a nice clean place, but the services are way too poor, especially the white lady at the reception she is rude, I asked for an iron and was told to go fetch it myself at the restaurant, on the other side of the rooms, which I asked if they do not have room service and she said no and they won't change it for one person. You can't even express your dissatisfaction without being told the lodge won't change because of you, the list you could do is treat customers right. We went to the restaurant to fetch our order and were approached without greeting and asked what we want as if we were criminals.
