We stayed at Letsatsi for 3 nights during our recent "road trip" from Pretoria via Springbok, down the N7, to Hermanus and back.|We stayed in one of the tented chalets by the dam. The accommodation is very comfortable and reminiscent of a safari camp but with modern amenities and creature comforts. |From booking directly with the Lodge, through to the day of departure, we only received the best-of-the-best and friendliest service from all the staff at Letsatsi. |The breakfasts in the mornings were scrumptious and on each of the 3 mornings the chef conjured up something special. The winner to us was the Melkkos (milk food loosely translated) - a truly South African tradional dish! |The dinners in the evening were outstanding and of the highest 5-star quality with personal attention being given by the chefs on duty. I have to mention the wine list which covered some of the best wineries from the Cederberg area and beyond.|What makes Letsatsi worth a 3 or more night stay, is that there are so many places to visit. Doringbaai is one of those places where you can enjoy the fresh catch-of-the-day while sipping on an award winning Doringbaai Chenin! |Did I mention the wild flowers in bloom in and around Letsatsi...? |We will definitely be back and highly recommend Letsatsi Lodge. Thank you Letsatsi Lodge for your part in making our road trip an experience to remember....
Read moreWe stayed over on our way back from Plettenberg Bay. Our first mistake was booking a hotel so off course - the road travelling back from Plett to JHB to Letsatsi was completely off course by 80km with the last 5km of our already 11hr drive being a dirt road. It was recommended by Lekke Slaap as an alternative as other accommodation was full but we will complain to them as well. The service at Letsatsi was good, our waiter Runny was fantastic, the food was not great however. The lodge reception and dining area was nice and clean however the room was old and absolutely filthy and dust everywhere. The carpets didn't look like they were vaccumed, the pillows were paper thin, the amount of dust around the thatch structure, the spider webs everywhere. Just gross. The beds were creaky with old uncomfortable mattresses, and just gross. Everything felt dirty and unwashed. I have no idea how this passes as a 4 Star Lodge - makes absolute no sense based on the bedrooms. As an interior designer I'm even more confused how the rooms have no similarity to the main lodge area. We booked a chalet, room number 26 - not worth the money we...
Read moreI travelled to this place for a business trip duration of stay 12-16 May 2025. On arrival my room had sift on the blinds, for someone with sinus I had an unpleasant stay. Woke up feeling sick. On day 2 which is the 13 May, I requested through reception, that they must please request house keeping, to do thorough cleaning of my room due to my condition.
On the 13 me and my colleagues arrived to our rooms not cleaned, the lady cleaning the rooms apologised and indicated that they couldn’t find spare keys to clean our rooms. Remember we were working whole day and it’s hot here 30degrees, now we must wait for out rooms to be cleaned before we can rest after work.
No one apologised from the managers about this issue My TB was not working since day 1, requested for it to be fixed it only worked an hour same problem reoccurred Today 13 May reported it again, the response was we know the problem will try to sort it out, it’s been 2 hours since TV has not been attended to. Only shower in the room, no shower cap No coffee and tea in the room.
I will not be able to...
