El Roi Guest Lodge — Hotel in Mbombela

We only stayed for a stopover between Kruger National Park and our flight to Cape Town but would have loved to have stayed longer. Willemien was an excellent host at El Roi. She was very responsive to messages and clear instructions were given about finding the lodge. On arrival, Willemien noticed we were travelling with an infant and gave us a free upgrade to the large cottage with a bath. She also easily accommodated an upgrade for my mum to a sunny and larger room. We ended up spending more time in the sunny room as the large cottage was quite cold and a bit dark but it had plenty of space.||While they had no food options onsite, Willemien organised pizza delivery for us on her phone and gave us good advice for places in White River to eat. Lovely place in the middel of it all. They have a deck which look out on the land/mountains and over their small pond. I had the privilege of staying for 3 nights. They were kind enough to take me to town and let me fish from their deck. I was in no mood to eat take away's, so they gave me a fully cooked meal each night and I have to say the food was amazing. The rooms were clean and when we arrived and to our surprise they also came to clean the rooms the following day (We havent had that in a self catering unit before) The hostess is very friendly and welcoming.
