Spent 3 nights here recently while visiting the Kruger national park. It's about 20mins from the Tented camp We stayed in tent no 1 . All tents are roughly 50m from the Sabie river, which we gather flows all year. The rapids makes it sound like you at the sea side , what a way to fall asleep each night The tent was spacious with all the basics we needed, bathroom a separate concrete structure but still part of the tent. Parking is right by your tent , far from the road and the property very safe The view from the balcony was amazing and we enjoyed beautiful sunsets every evening The bar and restaurant areas were also about 50m away from our tent. Great setting near the river and restaurant not impacted by loadshedding. The tents were but never spoilt our experience. We went for the breakfast and dinner option. You can choose to eat here or not, some restaurants about 10min drive away near the main rd. Our dinners were great and we arranged breakfast packs each morning as we left early for the Kruger each day. Service was always quick and efficient. Coffee and tea were freely available at dinner time There is a little beach area and a small boma area where a couple enjoyed a romantic dinner one evening. Some activities like tubing can be done We found all staff really friendly, from the mngt team, Lynette and Heath as well as our go to guy , Aiden who welcomed us , provided breakfast packs , opened the remote gate early every morning and was the barman to. Great place to stay and definitely recommend

I am honestly disappointed by this place. Yes, the location and view are beautiful, but that’s about the only good thing there. They completely misled us about “nearby activities” the majority of them are actually an hour and a half away, which is ridiculous and false advertising. The tents are in desperate need of maintenance, and the showers were filthy and clearly not deep cleaned in a long time. The food was decent and the restaurant staff were friendly, but that’s overshadowed by how poorly everything else was handled. For a so-called holiday getaway, it makes absolutely no sense that self-catering is not allowed, yet the bar and restaurant close at 9pm. Who goes on holiday just to sleep early because there’s nothing else to do? Not being allowed to have your own food or drinks in the room is an inconvenience and honestly makes the experience boring and frustrating. To make matters worse, when I asked for a throw blanket, I was handed a dirty one. The beds were uncomfortable and squeaky, and although smoking and food are not allowed in the tents, we were given a tent that reeked of alcohol and cigarettes. Completely unacceptable. This place needs serious upgrades, better cleaning standards, and most importantly, to stop selling false information to guests. Beautiful views alone do not make up for a disappointing, frustrating, and overall unpleasant stay.

Lion's Rock Rapids was absolutely breath-taking! The majestic scenery, the peacefulness, the welcoming and eager staff, the flowing Sabie river, amazing food and just pure tranquility! They offer everything you could ever want in a bush holiday! My boyfriend and I celebrated his 30th birthday and stayed in the very spacious and luxurious chalets with a half-board experience. The meals were 10/10 and great portion sizes, so worth it and so tasty! They assisted us with bookings for all our activities, we had a blast with the whole team and the other guests as well! I recommend this to families, couples and anyone who wants the great glamping experience! They are super close to the Kruger Park and to supermarkets etc. a prime location with lots to do! I will definitely be returning to them soon.

Coming From JHB (Gauteng) - Fourways area. Its 4hours and 30min drive. Very long and tiring. Before booking as we wanted to celebrate our anniversary my partner and i went on the webiste and saw what are we getting ourselves into, views, points of interest, activities etc. When we arrive I inform the lady we would like to go for a game drive, where on their webiste was showing 659pp (afternoon drive) for Kruger National Park. She then tells me she will send them via WhatsApp the new prices... Which skyrocketed to R1052pp I got furious as That is PURE FALSE ADVERTISING(THEY DONT EVEN CARE), IVE BEEN ON THE ROAD FOR 5 HOURS (with stops) , Mind you, we have budgeted according to what we have seen on the site. The receptionist tells me they haven't updated prices... the prices shown on the webiste are from 2023 and 2024(2years ago). She further goes and explains that.. changing a webiste is a long procedure, meanwhile they can run promotions for staying there.(Lies) To her surprise I informed her IM A Software developer, i make webistes, update them, sell them etc... it does not take 2 years to update a site. Never. Another issue is that alll the activities posted on the site... are 45min to an hour drive away from the resort. The way its shown on the webistes stipulates, that those activities are in the vicinity. Complete heart breaking and big disappointment. When my partner and I were at the bon fire(Friday night) we met very nice couples, only to find they also fell into the same trick, we all laughed it off that we weanrt the only ones but still disappointed and infuriated.

Two people I would like to give recognition is Mr Johnson & Temba . Mr Johnson was a bliss, very sweet and took care of us in terms of food and handled everything professionally. I hope you see this Thank you Sir God bless you and your family.

But the rest... Bad Bad Bad Bad. Not nice at all , Liesss, Fake advertising. Don't fall...

I have left my orignal review below if you would like a read but, I felt it neccessary to add to following our recent experience. My wife and I had our wedding at Lions Rock Rapids at the beginning of April. We were excited and ready for the big day. On the Friday beforwe the wedding, we had a torrential storm where the damage seemed too much at the time to be ready for the big day, the following afternoon. The team got stuck in and worked relentlessly to have everything back to normal before our guests started arriving. The entire weekend, Heath, Lynette, Aiden and Louise were on hand running their backsides off to get things sorted and it was. The wedding was everything my wife and I imagined and more. The ladies and gents at this place are as magical as the place itself and I will suggest this lodge and camp to anyone i speak to. Through everything, we have become friends and its felt like that from the beginning.

If you are looking for the perfect wedding venue or just for a getaway, this is the place to stay at in the Hazyview area.

Thank you to the entire team at Lions Rock Rapids for your hardwork, grit and determination to make sure that your guests are at ease.

My fiancée and I booked a weekend away at Lion's Rock Rapids Lodge recently and we were blown away with the everything we experienced.

From the time we arrived, we felt more like family friends than paying customers. Nothing was too much effort and whoever you spoke to was more than happy to take care of your request. Lynette, Heath and the entire team are just the most incredible human beings and we will 100% be coming back to stay with you again. Thank you for an...
