I chose Fama Lodge because I wanted secure parking away from the busy part of Cape Town. It's 8km from the centre, but with no traffic only 15 minutes to Table Mountain (35 mins in rush hour). It's basic, and very close to the university, and there were several students there who were long term guests. I booked a "Family Room" but when I arrived it was a single bed.
