Madlula's Guesthouse — Hotel in Msunduzi Local Municipality

A nightmare experience. An owner who is not interested in her guests. Repeatedly ignored our calls and messages for assistance. Kept on fobbing me off. Booked for 6 nights as we working in the area. 1st night, after a hard days work - we arrived to a dirty room and had to leave for an hour because the room and the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned. Bathroom was dirty with used underwear and toothbrushes. The floors were dirty and the linen hadn’t been changed. 2nd night - we had electricity outages for over an hour, and we couldn't work or warm up our dinner. When we booked, we were told that there was solar. 3rd night - we got there at 17:45 and had to wait until after seven to get the electricity back up again because solar malfunctioned. Unable to eat or work, we drove to Durban for the night. 4th night - Got to a room full of water at the entrance as the fridge had defrosted and our food and fruit became soggy. Noisy establishment, overbooked rooms. Book elsewhere

The place was cleaned as can be seen in the pics . The hostess was super friendly. THE PLACE IS UNDER RESOURCED Smashed my car reversing so that was bad hopefully they will demarkate parking better so we park . There is also job securrity whk could have guide me to park right but most important there was a break in a thief came stole alcohol, from some of the rooms and attempted to steal two ladies phones. They screamed and he ran off. They had to knock in rooms wanting help so.. we paid R950 but were qouted R541 . There were no shower calls or the small towels to bathe with. There was one sets of soaps.. hthe hostess made us breakfast and organic used takeaways for us which was great , the fruits were old though. However everything else was cool ? Badly trained staff who have NO idea of the hospitality industry. Their dining room staff was poorly trained, as well as the receptionist who had so many problems to deal with, she could not handle them. Our friends arrived with all their confirmation documents only to be told that they had overbooked. Soon after more guests arrived and were also told they were overbooked. In total, 9 Overbooked!! This was the evening before my friends were running their first Comrades Marathon! How on earth does that happen??? When asked to speak to the manager, we were told she was on her way, but she never pitched. Just too many things to mention that were so bad it was laughable.
