Our stay was pleasant. The reception was terrible as there was no one to let us in and the receptionist had left the property along with all the keys. The owner of the property managed to let us in with the spare keys. He was very welcoming and gave as valuable advice for our trip to Namibia. Our room was simple but pleasant. Bathrooms are a little outdated but very clean. All the curtains are block-out except for one curtain which was very thin and let through a significant amount of light from the security light outside, which made for poor sleep quality. There was a communal lounge area and kitchen which was a pleasant surprise for us making our daily padkos, but there was another person staying next door who was very inconsiderate with using such spaces. He cooked dinner very late at night and left dirty dishes in the sink which made it unpleasant for us to make food the next day. This is not the guesthouse's fault, but it is one of the issues with a communal area adjacent to the bedrooms. ||A huge bonus was the gym on the premises. It was well-kitted out and was perfect for a long day of travelling. It was also a great activity whilst we were experiencing loadshedding. My partner did not see as many flaws as I did and would have given it 5 stars, so I think this guesthouse is very specific to your tastes in accommodation, but overall it was not a bad...
Read moreA very comfortable night spent at Elkoweru after a long day on the road. Great welcome by the staff who guided us to our accom and ensured we were settled and had everything we needed for the night.||A large family room was allocated and beds were very comfortable. It was also fitted with a nice bar sized fridge. A large bathroom en-suite with a great shower and hot water. The accom we had was part of the annex that had a large area shared by a few rooms that included a lounge and area to do self catering. This was complete with a kettle and microwave.||Although the parking for this annex is not enclosed we were able to park inside the main complex and was very safe and easily accessed.||Will definitely use the accom again when passing through Springbok.||Many thnaks to...
Read moreElkoweru is a family Guest house run and managed by the energetic Konrad. It offers a variety of rooms at reasonable prices. Those I saw were clean, comfortable and well furnished. The breakfasts are tasty and cooked to your specification. But Elkoweru's greatest asset is its staff, always friendly, cheerful and obliging with Konrad himself setting the style and standard. He accommodated my difficult times of arrival and departure (dictated by the Intercape bus schedules) with great good humour and could not have been more helpful despite the many and various other demands on his time.||||Springbok is an interesting small town and makes the best base for a visit to the Richtersveld World Heritage site. If I am ever here again I know that I will be able to enjoy another stay...
