Masonic Hotel — Hotel in Nama Khoi Local Municipality

What I loved about the Masonic Hotel was the fact that I could book in at 10am in the morning. Ok, my trip took longer than I planned and I ended up only booking in at 1pm (and very grateful for that!!!), but the fact that the room was ready and waiting I liked. The air conditioner worked perfectly, but I had to futz with the TV a bit to get the sound to work right after the previous visitor probably futzed with the TV (most probably looking for the channels that were promised in the room documentation, but wasn't there). The beds were nice and firm, the room was clean and you have more wall plugs than you can wave a stick at! The shower has fantastic water pressure. I loved the shower. ||||Now the negatives. The hotel's website promises room service, which they didn't have. And if you read the website, you're lead to believe that breakfast is included in the price of the room, which (as it turned out in our case) it wasn't. If we wanted breakfast we would have had to pay for it. Also, when we booked in, the registration book asked if you wanted breakfast and dinner and I clearly marked yes to breakfast (and noted it to the lady at reception too), but when we got to the dining room at 7am, there was no preparation for any kind of breakfast service at all. And then to hear that we had to pay for breakfast.... it left a sour taste in my mouth.||||The people are very friendly, and it did make up for some of the negatives, but I was left a bit underwhelmed. We have stayed in this hotel several times before and as usual we were made welcome there. It was Currie Cup final day and so we settled down to watch our WP team against the Sharks. Unfortunately WP lost - the only game they lost this season! Needless to say, we utilized the bar service and later, the the restaurant. ||||It is a pity they do not get more travelers stopping there, they provide a good and friendly service. Got to Springbok at 9:30 in the evening, but still greeted by friendly smile at the late hour. Receptionist was able to help with all requests and even went so far as to make us a booking at this late hour at the local Tauren Steak House to ensure us getting a much needed meal after 10 hours of traveling.
