Birdsong — Hotel in Nkomazi

Birdsong is a lovely, spacious home that is very well equipped — especially the kitchen, which lacks nothing. It’s clear a lot of thought has gone into ensuring guests have everything they need for a comfortable stay - lots of interesting art on the walls. Joan was an absolute delight as a host! So helpful and patient, even with all those phone calls we had to make because of the problems we had.

However, there are a few areas that need attention. The small downstairs bedroom is in need of an upgrade, and doesn’t match the otherwise high standard of the home’s interior. Both downstairs bathrooms are not that great, especially the one with the shower curtain.

Our biggest issue, though, was the noise. Unfortunately our stay coincided with a long weekend, and the nearby aqua park played extremely loud music all day using a megaphone to animate guests. Despite our efforts, there was no one able to assist in reducing the noise. While I understand this is outside of the owner's control, it had a big negative impact on our experience.

Additionally, the house’s water pump — necessary due to Marloth’s ongoing water issues — was very loud every time it kicked in. It was disruptive enough that we avoided flushing toilets at night or showering early in the morning to prevent waking others. This isn’t something we’ve experienced with past Marloth rentals, and it's not acceptable for a house of this quality.

Overall, while Birdsong is a lovely home, the noise problems — both external and internal — significantly detracted...

Amazing..large louge never used as downstairs deck was centre of everything..bush sunsets, animal visits, feeding animals from a heated plunge pool ,braai used every night, fire pit after supper with animal visits. Awesome accommodation ( 3 rooms, 2 en suite), top bedroom with an unbelievable deck ( palatial deck never used as everything happened downstairs), great position ( shops 1km away ) with only bush in front of house..1km to viewing spot into Kruger /walk down as resident animals keep their distance. The owner set up a WhatsApp group 1 week prior to occupancy, which was thoughtful. Joan, the property manager, was first class and met us on the first day to show the ropes. All amenities in place, including dishwasher, washing machine ( dont over pack like we did).|Perfect size for 6 adults..bringing kids..be sensible when feeding the animals as they are on your doorstep|Would massively recommend and PG, we hope to get...

Next Door Kruger is a sublime little oasis which makes for the perfect bush escape. The swimming pool was a huge bonus to take the edge off the very hot days. What a wonderful thing to return to every afternoon and lounge around watching the game that comes so close you can touch them. Everything in the house is of a great quality, and you are able to holiday in luxury. The hosts, Paul and Les, are fantastic, popping in to check up and have a chat - makes you feel as though you have friends visiting. I would recommend Next Door Kruger in a heartbeat ~ can't...
