This is a lengthy one - grab a coffee!|We booked our trip to this lovely lodge via Voyage Prive, we stayed 7 nights. It was Full Board which included soft drinks and a stay in a luxury chalet with open vehicle safari drives included. The lodge is situated about 20 minutes from Kruger in a beautiful area called Marloth park. We had the most amazing time, my husband celebrated his 50th birthday while here and the staff certainly pulled out all the stops to make it very special. Our chalet was bush willow, very private and in good conditions as per the online images. |I found all the staff extremely friendly and helpful and they work extremely hard. I particularly want to point out Given who was like a friend to us. The food was of good quality breakfast had lots of options from continental to many hot a la carte options. This was especially enjoyable after a sunrise safari! Lunch was a selection of sandwiches/ burgers and salads! The chips are some of the nicest I’ve ever had- recommend trying them. Dinner was 3 courses the menu was displayed outside daily. I enjoyed the dinners I would say I would have preferred to have a choice but each day there was a meat, vegetables and potatoes, couscous or rice. I would have liked to have perhaps pasta or a casserole but I think the food was typical of the region. Nice choice of wine options to purchase. We were busy each day with safaris and day trips and all were expertly organised by Jacques and the team. Jacques is a real asset to the place and kept us up to date at all times and check in on us regularly. |The area around the lodge is lovely. Lots of animals roaming freely and monkeys playing in the trees. This was a real delight. There is a pool and sun loungers to use. We didn’t use the pool as it was too cold when we were there but I think it would be very refreshing in the hot summer. We really enjoyed evenings sitting outside by the fire with a blanket and glass of wine. It was magical. This is was a trip of a lifetime for us and La Kruger made it extra special. For anyone thinking of visiting in June. There was plenty of sunshine midday to early afternoon. But once the sun was gone it was very cold. It was absolutely freezing in Kruger national park at sunrise. Wrap up very well. Thank you Jacques and team for everything. If we are visiting Kruger again we...

Staying at La Kruger Lodge was truly an amazing experience. From arriving until we left we had nothing by exceptional service.
I can’t thank Laura, Sabelo and Knowledge and the other team members enough, an absolute wonderful team. They catered to all our needs, kept us on schedule with our excursions and meal times.
As for the accommodation, the lodge is fantastic, you have two pools you can cool off, our bungalow had an outdoor shower also - love this!
Towels are provided - bath and swimming towels.
They also have a very good system that protects you from the Loadshedding that occurs.
Few things to think about when staying there: Safari - You are up early!! This is no joke, be prepared to be up early, the morning game drive means you are up at 3:30 and out the door at 4am SHARP! Mornings and evenings are the cooler times and this means the animals are more active. Gratuity- make sure you have enough physical cash to provide gratuities. It is best to do it as you go as the schedule means you don’t always see the same personal. So always show your appreciation when you can. Water, drink lots of it, they have an awesome minibar in each room. The prices are exactly the same as having it at the pool or at dinner, so it is really nice to know you are not being overcharged for taking something out of your fridge. Food - if you have no dietary requirements then sit back and relax. Every meal was amazing and the portions will leave you more than satisfied Breakfast is fantastic, you have options from a full breakfast, cereals, yogurt and cold meats.
Lastly - sit back and enjoy, take in all the sights and experiences. Remember this is a natural environment where you get to see the animals in their environment, be respectful, listen to what you are told. Everything these people do they do for the Park and to animals in it. Africa will always be...
Read moreWe have had the most wonderful week at LA Kruger as a group of six. We booked the luxury chalets which were spacious and comfortable, they had everything we needed. We had a long flight from the UK and then we're picked up from JNB for the five hour drive to Marloth Park, one of our group needed some extra medication and our driver found a suitable pharmacy and we were able to get that sorted in about 45 mins, we had a further delay due to roadworks so the journey took nearer 8 hours in total. We were met with the warmest of welcomes at LA Kruger and went straight to dinner which was the first of our several excellent meals. We had 3 different cuts of steak during the week, lamb and beef. It's a set 3 course menu and it's very good quality. We had daily trips booked as part of our package and this meant very early morning starts ranging from 04:20 to 08:00 everyday. The trips into Kruger were all amazing and exceeded our expectations. The trips around Marloth were good particularly the walking tour with Rick who was very knowledgeable and the sunset tour was beautiful. On almost all the tours you are in a open truck or minibus so there is a lot of driving but the wildlife you see is amazing. We felt very lucky with what we were able to see and close up on a lot of occasions. We evenimgs were usually an early night after dinner due to the early starts and we were happy with that, there is lots of wildlife around the lodge to keep you interested, mongoose, impala, kudu, bush bucks, warthogs and the bush baby's that entertained every night at dinner. The service we received from everyone at LA Kruger and our guides was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Overall this holiday exceeded our expectations and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to experience a SA Safari and all it...
