The most unjust case of misleading advertisement that I have ever seen. If only I had read through the Google Reviews before going, I might have been forewarned of the horrid experience awaiting me.
The images on Booking.com paint a completely different picture to what is found on site. And the price of the units are not at all justified! There are resorts with similar views which are far more luxurious at lower prices than what is advertised here. What you are paying for here, is a glorified camping experience at an inflated price.The only positive of this place is the close proximity to the Crocodile Bridge and the friendly staff.
A list of some of my grievances within the first 24 hours of our stay:
Unit did not have a kitchen. Fridge is located outside of unit. No cupboards for groceries. There are also monkeys on the premises that can take your food. Neighbors can easily just walk into my "kitchen" and take whatever they like. Meals need to be prepared outside in the heat (42 degrees Celsius in December) and there are ants crawling all over the table.
Only a single cupboard for clothing - not sufficient for the three beds that are inside the unit. Door of cupboard does not open properly due to a curtain railing that is in the way.
Unit does not have sufficient lighting. Only a few spotlights that give limited sight.
Kettle was dented on the nose and filled with limescale.
Kitchen layout very impractical. Bottom drawer of fridge cannot open because fridge door is blocked. Microwave is on top of fridge, which makes it inaccessible to short people. Microwave door cannot open, because it is blocked by the fridge door. Plates provided by facility do not fit in the microwave as they are too big. If you move the microwave, the only other power source is located over an open gas flame (very dangerous!). The only pan provided by the facility, was not functional - its handle had been broken off. General lack of kitchen utensils. No washing basin at the unit - only an external wash up room, which I do not feel was clearly communicated. No sponges, towels or washing liquid provided.
Unit is advertised as having fast speed internet, however, it does not tell you that you are limited to 200 MB per day. This is only communicated once inside the unit.
The advertisement says that there is dedicated parking - but it fails to mention that this is only really a tree outside providing some shade.
Glass door locks itself - leaving you stranded outside.
After a day I decided to move to another lodge so that I could at least just enjoy my holiday. I requested a refund from management for the nights that I did not stay, and management essentially just gave me the middle finger. They refused to refund me since supposedly a unit had gone open that they could relocate me to. This is after their staff had tried to relocate me but said there was no availability. I suppose I should have maybe waited for who-knows-how-long and prayed that somebody would not arrive (surely that isn't such an unreasonable request, right?) But then again, if I read management's responses to other Google Reviews, it is evident that they are not interested in maintaining a client base once the money is in their pockets.
TLDR; the resort is insanely overpriced, the advertisements are misleading, there is a plethora of problems in the units and management...
