The area where house is located is peaceful & pretty and has a lot of trees as well as near to the natural reserve. Even though it was very cold weather and raining when we were there, the Queen studio was warm and comfortable with nice electric blankets to keep us warm at night. All you need to make a meal is in the kitchenette. The Hostess Gail was so welcoming, friendly and kind. She offered to dry our towels and also dry some of my hubby's wet golf clothes which helped us tremendously. We will definitelly go stay there again when we in Hermanus in future. The apartment was clean, neat, tidy and had a beautiful feel about it. The kitchen was well equipped, although we did not use it. The couch was comfy and the bed was bliss to sleep on. Soft, cool sheets, and wonderful bedroom with lots of light and air. The host, Gail, was friendly and made us feel very welcome. Little things done by Gail was very nice and unexpected, like a bottle of wine on arrival, milk and cold water in the fridge, and tea and coffee available. Towels and clean linen were also available, inlcuding beach towels, such a good idea. The location was peaceful and 10 mins drive from the beach. it overlooked a green golf course and was very calming. The patio was huge and we spent a lot of time out there in the evenings after dinner out, drinking wine and watching the stars late at night. Our stay at Fernkloof Lodge was so pleasant: it was clean, comfortable and convenient. Gail was a superb host and tended to us whenever we required assistance. The Lodge is well located with a beautiful view over the golf course and a distant view of the ocean. The establishment is well equipped for self-catering purposes, has a comfortable bed with good linen and has a beautiful balcony to enjoy the view.
