Terrible service, disappointing, damage to personal belongings, refusal to acknowledge or resolve complaint, disregard and discrimination, emotional damage and humiliation, wrongfully and unlawfully requested to leave. Romantic getaway gone wrong!!!
Was staying there for a few days and everything was as expected, well kept, friendly staff, and relaxing vibes until Sunday afternoon the 31st that is…. I left my Lenovo tablet on my bedside table the day before thinking it’s safe and sound. I went out for a few hours and staff cleaned and tidied room while I was gone. I picked up my Lenovo tablet later only to discover a crack that wasn’t there before and screen completely broken. It’s definitely completely unusable. I messaged the owner about it and shortly after that a cleaning lady came to the door to say she was the one cleaning there and she doesn’t know anything. My boyfriend was also sitting in the room. I went into the bathroom after saying to her that there’s nothing to discuss or confirm or say between us and her and I’m not concerned about what she had to say about anything actually. I KNOW for a FACT it wasn’t us that smashed the tablet screen completely and I was really upset. I couldn’t actually understand why she came there or what she was trying to achieve. I made it clear I’m not up to playing detective or speculating on what MIGHT have happened because it’s tablet was BROKEN and that would not fix the problem. I made it clear I’m very upset and shocked and that it SHOULD BE FIXED.Whoever cleaned there that day completely irrelevant and the owner would be entirely responsible. She left shortly after and I didn’t see or hear from anyone after that. I’ve messaged the owner again a few times making it clear that I expect them to have it fixed BECAUSE IT WASNT BROKEN WHEN WE LEFT THE ROOM. And I’m not ok with it and it’s not just gonna be forgotten or packed away. I needed to use it that weekend for preparation of documentation for a court case AND my tablet was the only place some documents were stored. Not my accident or my fault and I should not be for my account!!! The person WHO WAS IN HERE TODAY IS THE ONLY PERSON WHO REALLY KNOWS WHAT HAPPENED and finding evedince is not my job or a requirement needed for the owner to be responsible for damages.I sent more messages and the owners told Me to stop sending messages as I was harassing them. I told them that I would write a review on how the matter was being handled-their response was that I shouldn’t threaten them/ I called them on Sunday afternoon to find out when they’re getting back to me with a resolution. Irrelevant issues about missing kfc and days old noise complaints was discussed in the meeting and was actually just a deflection if you ask me, as it happened days PRIOR to the serious incident of damaged tablet and as far as I was concerned-ancient history. The owner basically said that my claim that tablet was damaged ‘is nonsense’ and he said he wanted us to leave his property and that he would refund us for that day. I was SO Shocked and horrified I just stomped off. I wasn’t feeling well thst day and actually wanted to rest-instead we had to find alternative accommodation and pack in a hurry. Which we did. I cried through most of it and couldn’t actually believe something like that could happen to a guest at a lodge. It was really demoralising and traumatisong. We basically left there feeling like criminals . Matter is unresolved and I am definitely taking it further- not just for the cost of the tablet Screen. Out of principal and consumer protection rights I will not stop till this matter is rectified. I feel completely robbed and robbed...
Read moreThe rooms have all the basics you would expect and is kept clean. Chilled vibes and friendly staff. Nice pool area to relax. Usually very comfortable at this guesthouse until yesterday. I arrived home after a few hours at work and found my tablet where I left it on my bedside table with a broken screen. It’s not usable at all. Room was left open for cleaning. I immediately alerted management and then the cleaning lady pitched up here saying she was the one cleaning and and and I walked into the bathroom as I wasn’t really interested in her account of anything. Whatever her account of yesterday is of no use to me, I was very upset and made that clear to her. I wanted the owner to come check and show some interest regarding a serious matter. An apology would probably be in order but what I really want is my PROPERTY REPAIRED. Nobody else came so I massaged again saying that I am not responsible for the damage and that the lodge will have to fix it, naturally. Nobody responded or came to see me for hours. I messaged them again and said that I will post the progress of this incident on the public reviews and hopefully report that Kayamina lodge came through and saved the day. That didn’t happen ,|I got a message back saying I should stop sending messages and not to threaten them. They Also mentioned issues from DAYS AGO and even suggested we broke the tablet ourselves while arguing. NOTHING has been done whatsoever and I’m minus a tablet which I actually need to use urgently ! So I will follow googles guidelines on what to do if you find personal things broken in a hotel room. Hopefully Kayamina Will surprise us and save the day soon....

Also loved the free wifi, there's massage services, breakfast and lunch on premises and they clean and change your sheets daily....
