King's Palace Hotel — Hotel in Rustenburg Local Municipality

The rooms are modern, beautiful and very clean but they are so small. Anyone suffering from claustrophobia will not survive, especially in the bathroom. The rooms are not equipped with a bar fridge. We tried to upgrade to bigger rooms but were told the rooms are all the same size except for the presidential suite which was unfortunately not available during our stay.

This hotel is beautiful and the staff very friendly and accommodating. We didnt have enough towels in our rooms but they provided more on request, which we highly appreciated. I should also mention, the food is absolutely delicious, the chef is doing a great job.

Now, my only main issue and reason I will never come back to this hotel is the noise that comes from their roof top bar. As much as it is a good profitable concept to have a bar on the premises, the rooms are not sound proof. They play music throughout the day until late at night. The one night we had to complain to get the music switched off at 22h35.

So if you need peace and quite and are travelling with kids as a family, this place is a no no. We stayed over a long weekend, so not sure if this loud music playing from the bar day and night is a norm or happens only over the weekend. But I have to point out, I am well travelled and have been to a lot of places locally and abroad, I've never been to a hotel this noisy. It is so noisy even my kids were complaining. The Kings Gate hotel is great hotel with friendly staff from the security guard’s at the gate all the way to the in-house working staff.

The restaurant served a beautiful hearty buffet. The rooms are very cosy, neat and accommodating. During my stay I had two different rooms which hosted me differently the other room was great without much of a blemish besides the weak Wi-Fi signal and the soap which was provided crumbled up on the first use, it was better than the second one.

The following room had the same feeling and mood as the first, without the calm subtleness of the first one. Apart from not having soap, it had a tendency to flood up the bathroom floor when taking a shower. All this was resolved by the wonderful staff there available to help.

Although these rooms have different personalities, the sky bar doesn’t go unnoticed at all. Standing tall on the crown of the building overlooking the breath taking Rustenburg landscape, with mountains close enough to touch it’s most beautiful at Sun Set.

This place has potential. Its beautiful and the views are to die for. The ambience is on a 100. The food though was dissapointing. I ordered the Cordon Blue a proper dissapointment. My friend ordered the Buffalo wings and ribs. They were horrible. A friend ordered the chicken salad she loved it. Another friend ordered the Kingsgate Jumbo burger she said it was the best. The waiters(we had two) was not attentive. The friend who ordered the fish was dissapointed. My gin looked and tasted fabulous. The alcohol was okay. The non alcoholic daiquiri was a miss. first one did not write down the orders as she gave my friend who specifically said she doesnt want tomatoes a salad with tomatoes. She took the same friends milkshake to the wrong friend. After we moved upstairs we got a lady waiter who truly did not care about service. She would disappear for 30 minutes.
