Neglected guesthouse

We were really looking forward to our stay, but it ended up being quite disappointing. The pictures on Google and Booking.com showed a sparkling blue pool, which is one of the main reasons we booked the specific room by the pool. However, when we arrived, the owner assumed we wouldn’t use the pool, and the cover stayed on the entire weekend, even though it was very hot since we arrived Friday until we left Sunday. When we checked underneath, we realized the pool was actually green and unusable. There was also dust on the ceiling fan, so we couldn’t turn it on, which made the room uncomfortable. My friend and I had a lovely two night stay recently at EmeraldView Guesthouse. We each had our own room, which were beautifully appointed, opening out onto a verandah with a swimming pool and the magnificent expansive view of the Langebaan lagoon. The bed was so comfortable, with a heated underblanket and I slept so well. No noise except the early morning birdlife. There is coffee, tea, rusks, fresh milk, a little fridge, microwave and a few kitchen items. Our hosts were Rodger and Jennifer and were so helpful and kind. I had a lovely walk down to the yacht club and across the cliff path overlooking the lagoon......

ROOMS: the rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. our room had a little fridge, microwave, bench, desk, bathroom with shower and a beautiful double glass door that slid open to the balcony, pool and amazing view. SERVICE: loved the kind service, and was greeted with freshly squeezed orange juice on the first morning!!
