Golf and Garden Guesthouse — Hotel in Somerset West

The Golf and Garden is a B&B basically overlooking CapeTown, South Africa. It is found in a lovely residential neighbor and if you didn't know it was a B&B, you would never guess. It is clean, efficient and comfortable. If you are seeking a high end hotel, go somewhere else. If you would rather spend time with lovely, friendly, helpful, interesting people--stay here. Breakfast is wonderful and plentiful and if you plan to sleep late they will wait for you. The rooms are fairly large and have everything you need, except perhaps a phone. Which makes it even better. The other guests, they only have five rooms, were friendly and interesting. There is a swimming pool and lovely patios on which to sit and think about the world. If you need reservations for dinner or golf, the owners will be happy to make them for you. The only short coming is that you need a car or access to a taxi, you can't walk to anything. I stayed here with Phil and Claudia last year, I promised to do a review but there were so many from when the property had been owned previously that I felt a review would be out of context.

However the site is anew and I'm pleased to report that it was a lovely location, the rooms cleaned daily, the staff pleasant, Phil even organised our zip wire excursion. Claudia did breakfast and nothing was too much trouble for them.

Highly recommended, close to so many facilities, beaches, shops and restaurants, the Hussar Grill nearby was superb.

We were over from England and met up with family from J'bourg here, it was a lovely place to relax after a heady day in Cape Town.
