We had an incredible stay at the Karoo Art Hotel in Barrydale and only wish we could have stayed longer! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and cared for. The owner, Rick, was on-site and went out of his way to ensure everything was perfect — his warmth and hospitality truly set the tone.||After a long day of driving, we enjoyed a delicious, comforting meal in the pub — exactly what we needed. The accommodation was spotless and full of charm. The staff were exceptional — friendly, attentive, and genuinely eager to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.||I would go back in a nanosecond! This hotel is a gem, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Barrydale. I can't wait to return and explore more of the magic this town and the Karoo Art Hotel...

Away from the busy R62, in the heart of Barrydale, you’ll find the restored true Karoo Art Hotel, a place where the time slows and the heart catches up!|Our room was beautifully appointed with a balcony and view over the town and mountains. The management and staff are friendly and pleasantly accommodating, no request is too much. Local Karoo art adorns the walls in all areas of the hotel, including the rooms. The separate bakery and cafe are exquisite and the main dining room takes one into an era gone by. The food is excellent. The bar is a warm, comfy place where our pre-dinner drinks were accompanied by a live jazz musician. Lunch on the patio was also a treat.

Wonderful meals at lunch and dinner. Well priced. Excellent service. Sit in the veranda outside and enjoy the beautiful view of the surrounding mountains.

They also sell the most amazing sourdough bread every morning. Better thank you can get in San Francisco.

Take time to go across the street and visit the Magpie. You will see beautiful chandeliers and home fine ware.
