Occi Lodge — Hotel in uMhlabuyalingana Local Municipality

The rooms and actual lodge are quite nice and clean but when we arrived there was no one to check us in and we bumped into a gentleman coming back from a dive who helped us and called the lady in charge to get us keys. One of the rooms' aircon was not working and when I called the lady in charge, she was very rude when we asked if there was an alternative. She told us that if we wanted she could refund the money and we could stay somewhere else and then later called back to say that they could provide a fan, which should have been the first response to the situation (easy and more hospitable solution). Also was not informed when booking that the chalets could actually sleep 3 or 4 people, I was told there was only a double bed so I booked two separate rooms. One more concern was that it was difficult to sleep because there is a shebeen across the road which was blasting music every night until early hours of the morning. This is quite possibly one of the best self catering venues I've stayed at. Lovely setting, the communal area had everything you needed - the best kitchen with every utensil possible, braaii area and nice seating areas.||Swimming pool small but nice ||Rooms really comfy and good size, aircon and powerful showers.||Good sized TV room||Nice little shop/cafe next door and bar across the road plus added benefit of being by shark museum.||45 min walk or 10 min drive to Bay||Wendy couldn't have been more friendly or helpful going above and beyond - I loved that she is always thinking about her guests which included new purchases of whistle kettles so even during load shedding guests could have a hot drink||Totally recommended||Only thing missing was maybe an...

We have had the best times at Occi lodge! I celebrated my 21st at Pccie lodge and we have stayed there when we visit sodwana for holidays!

We have stayed in the cabins, chalets and en-suite rooms and honestly they are all great!

Wendy and her staff are always kind, welcoming and helpful. We love occi lodge and will continue to support them as long as we can.

It’s very safe, clean, neat and close to everything we need like restaurants, shops and bars.
