Onze Rust Guest House & Caravan Park — Hotel in Umsobomvu Local Municipality

If anyone is travelling to cape town or Johannesburg in the near future and is looking for halfway accommodation I recommend onze rust colesburg.

My family and I were traveling from Cape Town to Johannesburg last Dec, when our car broke down at 21:30 at night. We were stranded in the middle of nowhere 3 adults 4 dogs and a cat. We were luckily enough to find a tow truck. We started looking for places to stay. We finally found onze rust in colesburg. It was stressful as we had so many animals, pet friendly accommodation is so hard to find. The owner was so nice, said no problem about the animals. They are pet friendly. He didnt ask size of the dogs nothing. Just said again we are pet friendly and are welcome.

We got there at 11pm. The owners were so sweet and asked us if we needed dinner at that hour. We had an amazing dinner. Curry and rice with vegetables. We stayed one more day. And it was completely a lovely experience and the food was amazing. We had a one bedroom chalet with a double bed and 2 single beds. We had a garden that we shared with the unit next to us.

It was an amazing experience in one of the scariest times, because traveling with furbabies that far is so stressful.

We had booked to sleep over on the 29 September and after a long 9 odd hrs of travelling we arrived there tired and wanting to just relax. When Eugene came out to us and said he had no where for us to stay after confirming it all. He said we were to go to another place down the hill which was too terrible. They have no privacy. U open ur door and u on ur neighbours door too...anyway Eugene never apologised to me. We left seeing all the other rooms had no people staying there and can't help but wonder whether they only clean ur room if they know that one is going there that day....and also what was so difficult for Eugene to call us before we arrived (as he knew in the morning already) to say no space or go to this place....very disappointed and HV referred many people in the last 8 years as have my parents and my parent in law but won't definitely be referring again. However on our trip back we did stop over again but had a pleasant chap, Stephen, invite us and see to us and that we were comfy...he even gave us on his own the WiFi which made our girls delighted...we will attempt this next trip once more at Onze Rust and if we experience this treatment/service again we can move on as there seem to be plenty of accommodations in...

We stayed at this place for 2 weeks...they advertise as a caravan park, but you cant because the couple stands here havnt any trees, NO GRASS !!!! While hubby and I were sitting outside one day, the owners mother came to us..... started discussing the businesses they have, and also started to discuss one of the guys working there. Telling us how he was living in the streets, they took him in....hubby and i was like "HUH?" They also have a oldish black Rottweiler who will charge anyone walking around with something in your hand.....charged at me twice......(as i was bitten when i was small through a rottweiler). Then 15 Feb 2022 Tuesday night our 2 bathroom kits, a pair of UZZI shoes and a Malboer.com hat got stolen. I did report it immediately the next morning as i wanted to go shower. (We use our Awning for short camping)......the one owner Eugene who runs this part of the business looked at me like im lying and said....."Sorry to here about it" and did absolutely nothing about this......this was at 7:32 am 16 Feb 2022.......

They do not care about campers.....only your money !!!!!!! BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU VISIT THIS PLACE. THERE IS NO SECURITY MESSURES AT THIS...
