Everything you need & more.|We booked the loft suite which we loved although we were out & about a lot so didn't use it as much as many would. We didn't even use the tv! It is accessed via a spiral staircase which is quirky but not a problem at all, has a spacious lounge, great bedroom (king size bed) with loads of storage, and fab en suite with shower but no bath. It's a lovely space with just a very nice feel to it.|We both had massages in the building next to the pool situated like a welcoming oasis towards the rear of the property. We only spent a short time by the pool, but it was peaceful & very relaxing and complimented by James the emu grunting merrily away behind us.|Breakfast was included & beautifully presented by two delightful ladies. The eggs were heart shaped and set me up for the day. The fruit, yoghurt & muesli so tasty with that drizzle of honey, and the homemade cherry jam complimented the croissants perfectly. All served in s little oasis of charm.|Location-wise, it is just too far to walk to the beach area at about a mile & a half. We did it twice, but most guests wouldn't. The area is well served by Uber at a cost of around £3 for that journey (330ZAR) so no issue there and we Uberred back each time. |A quick mention of brilliant staff and the owner: the staff were lovely and tried so hard to make our stay here great - ten out of ten! We met the owner a few times & she was great to chat with and also couldn't have done more to welcome us and ensure our total satisfaction.|In general, as you can tell, we loved this place and highly recommend to anyone with just a couple of provisos: Valley Road is a reasonably busy road so there is some traffic noise - but it didn't worry us worth mentioning. And secondly, there is a dog shelter a few hundred yards away - and the dogs barked 24 hours a day. Again, not a problem to us as it was more a background irritant than a real issue but I suspect some people may not like it (although they could stay in one of the other suites where it would not be heard anything like as much - if at all!).|Just to repeat, we loved our stay here and would definitely recommend and look forward...
Read moreWe spent 4 days here when our accommodation at Camps Bay fell through and they arranged this for us in its stead|A beautiful centuries old place, it has a huge pool and nice garden. ||We had the “cottage” separate to the main house. It’s private, enormous and beautiful, with lounge, a large kitchen and lovely bathroom and comfortable bed. . Very relaxing, my only minor complaint is one common to most of Africa - need a few brighter lights after dark in the bedroom just to find stuff when you need it. Bonus - the place was not subject to load shedding either! ||The staff were very lovely, and the beautifully presented breakfast each day was superlative. The very nice owner came down each day to ask us if we needed help to plan our day which was really helpful. ||I’d highly recommend this place. It’s also a short walk to the hop on hop off bus and a short drive to the beautiful Hout Bay. A...
