Perfectly adequate comfortable room, overlooking sprawling Daegu.||Room was kept clean and stocked up.||State-of-the-art loo : all singing-all-dancing ( if you can work it out) but everything else fairly basic including the lighting which was hardly adequate, and no good for reading.||The pre-set heating was far too stuffy but thankfully could be turned off completely & hurrah! the window opened.||Main drawback is lack of English of the staff (neither spoken nor understood) so you have to work out for yourself how to get anywhere/ get anything sorted. ||The restaurant was a huge disappointment: very large impersonal room with very limited unchanging evening menu. Ate here twice simply because it was convenient to do so, but disappointing quality of food and quite expensive.||Breakfast was very Korean - plenty of it, but not for the faint-hearted. Bring your own t-bags if you want ordinary tea ( sees to be true throughout Korea). And staff hurried you out at closing time. ||Around the hotel there is a periphery of very Korean eateries within a short walk, incomprehensible menus unless you can read the Korean alphabet. Each seem to focus on just one main ingredient - so for example, everything would be based on belly pork, or for another eels etc. But if you want to sample basic Korean food there's plenty of choice here. Also a few surprisingly upmarket coffee & cake cafes.||However, very easy to get on the Skyrail from the hotel ( 5 mins walk) which gets you to everywhere...
Read moreI stayed at Daegu's 'Only 4-Star' hotel (as a sign outside their entrance states) for three weeks on business travel. While this hotel is modern, only top five of their 15 floors have actual hotel rooms. The remainder of the hotel is dedicated to events such as weddings and conferences.||The room I stayed in (regular, king bed) did not have a desk or table. It did have a small 'make-up' desk with a mirror but definitely not enough space for work. There is very limited closet space (like a wall-locker) with cubby-holes that has an electronic lock to secure items. There is no dresser, nor iron or ironing board. There is a very small refrigerator and water heater but no microwave. The bathroom is modern and even has a bidet equipped toilet. However, the shower curtain was quite thin and if not closed properly, leaks onto the floor. There were no floor mats so I used a hand-towel. The WiFi was excellent but the TV had very few English-speaking channels.||The hotel has several restaurants (fairly high-end) and serves breakfast daily (for an additional charge). The hotel is not centrally located. However, there are many restaurants within walking distance. Additionally, public transportation is readily available and taxi's are inexpensive.||Overall, this is a decent hotel with modern amenities but if you plan on staying in Daegu on business travel I recommend other...
